Pattaya police along with city law enforcement officials went on patrol at Walking Street on Saturday evening, October 1st, to inspect and manage car parking and pedestrian sidewalks.
This patrol is in line with Pattaya authorities’ announcement in early September which aims to reorganize Walking Street, including traffic management, road closures, garbage collection, and pedestrian walkways for safety and orderliness.
According to the inspection, it was found that more than 90 percent of both operators and tourists had cooperated with the reorganization plan and some of them were still unaware of the announcement.
The police then ordered to relocate all vehicles from the Walking Street area. Motorcycle taxis are ordered to station at the provided parking locations. All vehicles are prohibited from passing from 7:00 PM. to 04:00 AM. Selling and installing shops on the sidewalk are also prohibited, according to the new rules.
