A man wearing a food delivery jacket allegedly robbed 3.4 million baht from a woman in Chonburi around 2:30 P.M. yesterday, September 20th.


The victim was a business owner named Ms. Prapaporn Boonmeesanom (29). She went to report a robbery to Ban Bueng police yesterday, saying she was robbed for over 3.4 million baht by an unidentified man behind the Siam Commercial Bank on Soi Rat Uthit in the Ban Bueng subdistrict of Ban Bueng district, Chonburi.

The victim told The Pattaya News that she went to the bank with her driver, Mr. Kritchaphat Surakul (24), to withdraw money to pay her workers.

After Prapaporn and her driver got into their white van and were about to leave with a bag of money, the suspect, who was wearing a green food delivery jacket, appeared and opened the driver’s door and began punching the driver, accusing him of messing with his wife, according to the victim.

Ms. Prapaporn said the two fought briefly before her driver ran away after the suspect yelled that he had a gun. The suspect then took the bag of money and sped away on a grey motorbike without a license plate.

Prapaporn told the Pattaya News she was still in shock from the terrifying experience.

Exactly what I was thinking...too convenient. If he really had a gun, he would've just walked up and shot the driver, then shot her and took the money. No witnesses and a bag full of baht.

Company Clerk, Rider Likely Linked To 3.4m Baht Payroll Theft

CHONBURI police found the motorcycle and a pickup truck used in the theft of 3.46 million baht payroll at the car park of a bank yesterday afternoon (Sept. 20) with the company clerk from whom the large amount of cash was snatched being the owner of the latter, TV Channel 7 said.

Police now believe that at least two persons were involved in this theft. Found 50 metres within a sugarcane field at Ban Bueng district where the bank is also located was the motorbike used by the thief wearing a food delivery rider’s uniform.



Investigation revealed that the thief then drove a white pickup truck to a garage in Mueang Chonburi, about 20 kilometres away, and parked it there. A police team immediately came to lift the suspect’s fingerprints from the vehicle.

The garage’s staff said a man of around 20 years of age who looked like the thief as seen in a video clip had made an appointment to drop off the vehicle for repairs on Monday Sept. 19 but instead delivered it at around 2.30 p.m. yesterday.

It was found out that this pickup truck belonged to Ms. Prapaporn (surname withheld), 29, the company’s clerk who had withdrawn 3.5 million baht payroll and together with the driver took it to the van from where it was stolen.

Police tried to contact her but she could not be reached nor were they able to find her at her house as she had clearly fled.

It was discovered that Prapaporn earned around 30,000 baht a month from the company she worked for. However she is her family’s breadwinner and had to pay instalments for the pickup truck, a big bike and many other items.

Well, that didn't last long.
Caught this morning in Bangkok, and 3.2m baht recovered.

Suspect and staff member arrested in Chonburi for 3.4 million baht robbery, staff member allegedly conspired with suspect

Two suspects including a man in a green food delivery outfit and a female staff member, who turned out to be conspiring with the suspect, were arrested in Chonburi for a 3.4 million baht robbery, according to police reports.

Chonburi police revealed CCTV footage showing Ms. Prapaporn Boonmeesanom, a 24-year-old suspect who was also a staff member of an undisclosed company, walking out of the bank after withdrawing around 3.4 million baht to pay the company’s employees, accompanied by a driver, Mr. Kritchaphat Surakul.

Then the police pointed to another suspect, Mr. Jatuphon Boonmeesanom (27). He was sitting on a motorbike 50 meters away from Prapaporn and the driver, wearing a green food delivery jacket and seemingly waiting for the two to arrive at their van.

Police said Jatuphon drove to the van and began attacking the driver over an adultery accusation until the driver ran away. He then took the bag of money from Prapaporn and escaped.

However, an investigation later determined that Prapaporn was actually Jatuphon’s older sister. She allegedly conspired with her brother to steal the money from her company, claiming that she was deep in debt.


The two suspects were arrested with 3.2 million baht cash. Chonburi police stated that they would carry on with the investigation to find the rest of the money. It was unclear where the disparity in the cash amount came from.

Talking about this last night, unusual to still be paying out that amount in cash.
Ms P signs off on a monthly payroll of 4-5m, mix of salaried and daily/casual employees, all by direct credit to bank accounts, no cash; they employ quite a few Cambodians and having a valid Thai bank account and work permit are a requirement when they start employment, keeps them clear from Immigration issues.

In terms of a well-thought out plan, this brother and sister quite the comedy act.
