Given that just about every bar simply added "and restaurant" to its sign and arranged to serve "food" to stay open, that applies to every single fucking bar that has stayed open all this time. Some of them even doing a "menu" that consisted of 7/11 food from what I understand. One I know here has a lonely sign on its wall offering Khao Soi and fuck all else.

The bars and gogo brothels to which you refer are modest enterprises and fit happily within the ambiguity of Thai law and regulatory enforcement, Mountain B is a fucking huge, aircraft hangar sized club designed specifically for hundreds of patrons dancing to music and live entertainment.
You stupid fuck 'Arry.
i suppose it is beyond the thinking of the idiots at the BMA to actually mention these 83 places in order to warn the public of the dangers therein. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has found 83 entertainment places with safety issues, some with inadequate emergency exits for patrons, but most of them continue to operate.
'Arry, you lumpen clod, did you not pick up on the irony of my comment conferred by the usage of "ambiguity".
Intellectually, you are the equivalent of a pair of mud caked Wellington boots.
The death toll from the Mountain B nightclub fire has risen to 16, officials said on Wednesday, with dozens more still in hospital.
Mountain B pub fire death toll rises to 16
It’s horrible. So many young people lost or scarred forever.
Mountain B nightclub owner gives detailed interview about fatal club fire, his remorse, experience, and more
The Mountain B nightclub owner and his wife held their first public press conference/interview yesterday, August 10th, saying they almost attempted to commit suicide after the incident, expressed remorse for the victims, but asserted that the fire exits were unlocked.
Five days have passed since the horrid Mountain B nightclub fire that killed 16 people and injured several more on August 5th, and finally, the pub owner Pongsiri Panprasong, 27, or “Sia B” who was released on 300,000-baht bail was ready to talk.
“I apologize to every victim’s family. I will try to visit all of them to deal with the funeral arrangements and compensation,” Sia B said briefly before letting his wife Anongnart Panprasong, 31, speak.
“I was checking our stock outside the pub when I heard a blast around 1 AM. I saw customers rushing out of the front gate; some were covered in flame, so I used a wet towel to help them before I called a firefighter,” Anongnart stated. Three of her employees reportedly died in the pub, but she said she was unaware because she was engrossed in an interrogation at the Plutaluang Police Station.
When asked about their source of funding, Anongnart replied, “We accumulated money from selling goods, pork meat, and noodles. We also run a restaurant in front of our pub and manage everything on our own without any consultant or silent investors. We are the sole owners.”
Regarding the fire exit, which many rumored that it was locked, the wife claimed, “The guard usually took care of it. I don’t know if it was locked. But the side doors were always open.”
Sia B then interrupted his wife and asserted, “All doors always stayed open due to our policy. We also had clear signs pointing to the exit.”
Anongnart continued in a trembling tone that this tragedy almost drove her to mutually commit suicide with her husband, as she admitted the problem was almost too much for them to bear.
The reporters then asked her about the license to operate a pub, to which Anongnart confessed that the license she had technically allowed her to open a restaurant, not a nightclub; however, she affirmed that she abided by the legal closing hours by closing her venue at 1 AM every day and always prioritized security measures.
Even so, Anongnart said she had no idea how two minors, 17 and 18 years old, who were later found dead inside the pub, could evade her security guards. The legal age for entry to clubs in Thailand is twenty-years-old.
Sia B ended the conference, promising that once all matters had been sorted, he would ordain as a monk to dedicate his merit to all the victims.

Yeah of course, totally believable.Sia B ended the conference, promising that once all matters had been sorted, he would ordain as a monk
Truly, Thai are beneath contempt and utterly sickening.
Their hypocrisy and deceit as they grovel for forgiveness in order to save their own scabrous skins is an emetic.
becoming a monk for a week seems to be the thai equivalent of the community service we see in the uk, where scrotes and other assorted low rent miscreants don hi-vis waistcoats and gangs of them are to be seen sweeping the streets and gutters and cutting back the foliage on the verges.he would ordain as a monk to dedicate his merit to all the victims.
whenever possible i always try to drive through a puddle and splash them.
28 Mountain B pub fire victims still in hospital, some still on ventilators
Twenty-eight victims of the Sattahip Mountain B pub fire on August 5th are still being treated in hospitals a week after the blaze, including 11 who are on ventilators, according to the Chon Buri provincial health office.
Thirteen patrons of the pub died at the scene of the inferno and four died later in hospital.
The health office said that the condition of one of the seriously-burned victims on ventilators, 25-year old Vietnamese citizen Dinh Kim Le, has been steadily improving and doctors will soon take her off the ventilator, but she will remain in hospital under close observation.
Dinh Kim Le’s elder sister related her sibling’s story on Vietnamese social media and organised a fund-raising campaign to meet her medical expenses at a private hospital in Pattaya, currently amounting to over 600,000 baht.
The victim has now been transferred to a state hospital after her Thai friend could no longer afford to pay more medical bills.
The victim’s sister reportedly managed to raise 46 million Vietnamese dong (around 70,000 baht). Another 60,000 baht has been raised by the victim’s Thai friend, Apinya Mongkolsin, from Thai donors, who had paid the private hospital a 50,000 baht down payment so they would admit the victim. The state hospitals in Chon Buri had reportedly refused to admit her due to lack of the special facilities required by severely-burned victims.
Chon Buri police searched the badly-damaged pub today (Friday) to collect sound-absorbing foam from the ceiling of the premises for tests.
Meanwhile, the pub’s owner is out on bail after being charged with negligence causing the death of others, among several other charges.

A female Vietnamese victim of the Mountain B fire begged the owner to cover her exorbitant medical expenses, which had amounted to more than 600,000 baht, according to her friends.
Ms. Apinya Mongkolsin has come out to voice her grievance on behalf of her friend, Ms. Dinh Kim Le, a 28-year-old Vietnamese victim of the Mountain B club fire, who sustained burns over 70-80 percent of her body and remained in an intensive care unit for days since the fire.
According to Apinya, Dinh was a beautiful, amicable Vietnamese nationality who resided in Sattahip. Dinh invited Apinya to join her at the Mountain B club on the day of the accident, but she did not go there immediately and heard later that the club busted into flames.
Apinya realized later that Dihn was one of the victims, so she rushed to Queen Sirikit Hospital where her friend was waiting for a vacancy in the intensive care unit with 10 other equally injured victims. On the hospital bed, she cried agonizingly, while waiting for the doctor’s availability, Apinya said, so she eventually decided to take her friend in a car to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.
Apinya said she paid a 50,000 baht deposit for Dihn. For six days, Dihn had stayed in a sterile room and relied on a respiratory machine. A visit was not allowed for her, and her medical expenses had mounted to over 630,614 baht, Apinya stated.
Finally, Apinya had to ask for her friend to be transferred to Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital, which was cheaper, while Dihn’s relatives had to pay 150,000 baht to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya before moving her to a new hospital.
Apinya begged the Mountain B’s owner or “Sia B” to cover her friend’s medical expenses because his initial compensation of only 10,000 baht was far from enough. Dihn also held a Vietnamese nationality, so she did not have any state welfare and could only lean on donations from Vietnamese people, Apinya added.
Dinh Kim Le is one of the survivors who was rescued by the Naval officer Pralitdet Chumngern. The officer was officially pronounced dead yesterday, August 11th, and marks the 17th fatality of the tragic Mountain B club fire.

If only there was some way of fixing this. Maybe people would pay some money in advance that they could then draw upon in case they needed…
not a thai. so tough luck.Dihn also held a Vietnamese nationality
the thai wont pay a fucking penny towards her treatment, and will happily wash their hands of any responsibility whatsover, even though her injuries were caused entirely by the long standing failures of the thai system and the backhanders that pass amongst the chickenheads who manage the licensing laws and the police who arrange the inspections of licensed and unlicensed premises.
and a medal for the grubby cheese paring grasping beancounters at the pattaya hospital who removed her as soon as the funds ran out.
what a shithole of a country.
meanwhile they are begging tourists around the world to come and enjoy their land of smiles.

Well said Tax, the hypocrisy of the Thai Establishment is institutional and the more folk realise what an immoral, money-grubbing society it truly is, the better.
Thailand is dangerous, its people are variously feckless, stupid and ignorant and their authorities are a corrupt hegemony of the venal, the incompetent, the sycophantic and the merely lazy.
The chanwat had numerous hospitals capable of sharing the load in providing emergency care for the casualties but no, they let them wait in agony until they moved up in the queue for treatment for their burns at the one local government hospital.
Fucking savages, I loathe them and their Asian callousness.

The Mountain B pub fire on Aug 5 in Chon Buri's Sattahip district claimed its 19th life on Monday, when a 23-year-old woman with critical burns died at Chon Buri Hospital.
Mountain B pub fire claims 19th life
Pattaya Provincial Court issues arrest warrant for father of ‘Mountain B’ nightclub “owner”, where fatal fire killed 19 people, following investigation which indicates him as the actual owner
The father of the 27-year-old ‘Mountain B’ “owner” was wanted by the Pattaya Provincial Court after the court issued an arrest warrant on Monday, August 15th, as they believe that he was the actual bar owner.
The 55-year-old father, who was identified as Somyot Panprasong, is now charged for causing serious deaths and injuries to others due to negligence and operating the entertainment venue without permission.
Local media also reported that the Court was convinced from their investigation that Somyot was the real owner of the venue which caught on fire after an explosion and killed 19 people but used his son’s name in the business operation.

What sort of father would let his son take the wrap for multiple deaths?
