Usual mawkish drivel from the dull and stupid.

A fucking elephant has more empathy than the average Somchai " why u care, not your business " Chickenhead bumbling through life in their own wee bubble of self absorbed consciousness fretting about their luck, their money, ghosts, bumptious pride and whose cock they next need to suck and arse to kiss.

Go to any major urban public hospital early in the morning and witness the inequality of the thousand or so peasants queuing up from 0600 hrs to await the arrival of the three doctors who deign to arrive at 0900 hrs and contrast the sweating chaos of the hot, suffering aged and infirm sweltering in their blank faced pained stoicism with the swish glide of pristine uniformed nurses tending in cathedral-like, air-conditioned silence to the precious demands of the richer Thai caste in the temples of self entitled privilege that are Thai private hospitals.

You dozy fuckwits, if Thai cared for each other in any meaningful way as you stupidly claim why is their third world society still rooted in medieval serfdom exploited by the corrupt for the benefit of the few?

Yeah, sure, Thai are altruistic samaritans wafting through life careful not to bruise a second of the day as they tend to each other with a cheery smile and offer their ministrations with nary a thought for themselves.

When you need to ridiculously exaggerate other people's comments to make them look ridiculous then it shows the weakness of your argument.

Do you think it's impossible that strangers just pick up on your sour faced hostility and steer clear?

    I don't, far from it.

Also, being in Pattaya is not going to help. Even the most forgiving of people know a sexpat when they see one.

Well observed Tax but don't expect any resonance among the sentimental clods here, laughably waxing lyrical in their adoration of Somchai's charity for his fellow man.

indeed. most of them unable to see beyond the next beer or blow job as they have been slowly, efficiently and thoroughly indoctrinated by their partners into "going native or else"

This fire situation likely put most people exiting and trying to get out in panic and others in shock. Takes a few minutes to regroup to jump in and help.
panic and shock ?? you fool. takes a few minutes to access the camera app on their phones more like. look at the cctv footage from some of the terrorist stabbings in london or paris, or the bomb at the boston marathon, and see how quick bystanders react and rush to offer help, and compare that to the scenes outside the burning pub. panic and shock or just total indifference and the need for tik tok approval? .... and read about wallets stolen from helpless victims of violence in thailand, or the theft of personal belongings from dead bodies by locals after the lauda air crash near kanchanaburi.

there are indeed many positive attributes to the s.e. asian character, but the lack of charity and inertia often shown to the plight of others is sadly a common feature of the modern s.e. asian mindset.

    The wounds got infected etc...

I'm sure we all 'know' or have seen people being helpful but we have also all seen the exact opposite, possibly far more often, in Thailand.

Hmm, so many posters living in Thailand agree that generally Thais are helpful, one disaffected miserable git says they aren't and his fellow miserable git in Yorkshire agrees.

    What conclusion to draw here?

And who tf would want to get within 5 yards of taxexile?

A friend of mine crashed his motorbike a couple weeks back way out on a jungle road. I received a call from a young Thai woman who had found him in the road. She told me she had called an ambulance. She followed the ambulance to the hospital and kept me informed of what was happening until after the doctor examined him, then left. It was far out of her way to do what she did. Bullshit that Thais are uncaring. Absolute bullshit.

15 now dead in Chon Buri pub blaze, fire exits all locked from the outside

While the death toll from the fire in the Chon Buri pub early Friday morning has increased to 15 today (Saturday), Suvadee Suetrong, a representative of the Mountain B pub’s owner, claims that there were three fire exits, but she didn’t know that they had all been locked from the outside, as she insisted that the proprietor is ready to compensate relatives of the dead and injured.

The pub, which is located on the Bang Na-Trat highway in Sattahip district of Chon Buri, caught fire during the early hours of Friday, initially killing 13 customers and injuring dozens in one of Thailand’s deadliest night venue fires. The pub was found to have been illegally modified, operating beyond permitted hours and with only one way in and out.

Two more of the seriously injured were pronounced dead yesterday and today.

Suvadee claimed that the owner, whom she did not name, was in the pub at the time of the fire and he, as well as other employees, had tried to help customers to get out of the burning pub.

She added that all of them had reported to Phlu Ta Luang police station.

Regarding the three exits, Suvadee said that new customers were unaware of them, as she insisted that all three exits were normally unlocked and that she does not understand why they were locked from the outside that night.

Suvadee admitted that she had no idea that the pub did not have the required permissions, because she was not responsible for that matter, adding that there is only one owner.

The premises were divided into a restaurant, a bar-b-q restaurant and the pub.

The bodies of 14 of the victims are being kept at the Central Police Forensic Science Division at the Police General Hospital for autopsy, which will take up to 2 days to complete, after which their relatives can claim them for their funerals.

Relatives of some of the victims gathered in front of the damaged pub this morning to perform a religious ritual to bless the souls of the dead.

One of them, the mother of a female university student, said she and other family members came all the way from the north-eastern province of Khon Kaen to perform the ritual. She said she last saw her daughter about two months ago, at Burapha University, which she was attending.

The mother said she received a call from her daughter’s friend yesterday to say that she had perished in the fire.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Pol Maj-Gen Attasit Kitjaharn, commander of Chon Buri provincial police, ordered the immediate transfer of five senior police officers attached to the Phlu Ta Luang police station over the deadly fire.

The five officers transferred to the special operations centre of Chon Buri provincial police are the superintendent, Pol Col Wuttipong Somjai, his two deputies, Pol Lt-Col Somsak Ruying and Pol Lt-Col Torwong Sakkulawong, Pol Maj Somaya Chusukphonyiam, the inspector for crime suppression, and Pol Lt-Col Yutthana Songkrasant, the inspector of investigations.

The abrupt transfers are believed to be a punishment for their alleged failures, by allowing the Mountain B pub to operate beyond midnight.

On the same day, the district chief officer of Sattahip district, Chatchai Sripoon, was moved to the Institute of Administration Development under the Provincial Administration Department.

Five senior Sattahip police officers, including a chief, transferred in the aftermath of Mountain B nightclub fire

Five Plutaluang senior police officers have been transferred to the Chonburi Provincial Police Station in the aftermath of the Mountain B fire, which was reportedly illegally built and operated without a proper license.

Order Number 313/2020 to transfer five senior police officers at the Plutaluang Police Station went public yesterday, August 5th, under the name of Pol. Maj. Gen. Atthasit Kitchahan, Commander-in-Chief of the Chonburi Provincial Police, following the gruesome fire at the Mountain B pub in the Plutaluang subdistrict of the Sattahip district.

The order read, “To allow the offices at the Chonburi Provincial Police Station to work effectively, the five officers as followings will, therefore, be transferred to inactive posts at the Chonburi Provincial Police Station,”

POL. COL. Wuttipong Somjai, Chief of Police of the Plutaluang Police Station
POL. LT. COL. Somsak Ruying, Deputy Chief of Police
POL. LT. COL. Torwong Sakkulwong, Deputy Chief of Investigations
POL. MAJ. Samaya Choosukphonyam, Inspector of Crime Prevention and Suppression
POL. MAJ. Yuttana Songkrasa, Inspector of Investigations

The order is in effect until further notice, starting from August 5th, 2022.

Local media, however, reported that the transfers of the five police officers came from the aftermath of the discovery that Mountain B had been operating without a proper license, repeatedly violating the legal closing hours, and allowing access to minors. The five officers involved in the allegations will also be investigated by superior authorities.

Just ignore the 2 malcontents. One of them doesn't even live here and when he did, he probably never left the confines of his little condo. You know, the old coffin dodger shuffling down to the pool then off to Hua Hin big market to sit with other foreigners and whinge and complain. Regardless I am in no way saying Thai folks are any better or worse than anywhere else in the world, but they are definitely not as bad as these 2 knuckleheads would like us all to believe with their constant negative diatribe.

Bottom-line nowadays the world is all about smart phones and social media. There was a recent attack in SF of an elderly person by 4 young assailants. 3 people recorded the event but not one jumped in to stop the assault. Yes the recording might actually assist in capturing the abusers but had they jumped in, the injuries sustained may have been less. Most of the people nowadays are just simply to afraid to get involved.

One thing I am pretty confident about is that Thai people are not trained or shown what to do if someone is on fire. You do not just grab people with exposed skin that has been burned. You have to wrap people and roll them. People on fire ( who are likely in shock and fear) need to know to dive and roll to stop the flames and doubt seriously they know that. People running when on fire only increases oxygen at the point of flame causing more damage.

Tragic event for young party go'ers.

As yet, and somewhat typically, ownership of said illegal death-trap, operated on the established Thai principal of economic philanthropy " fuck lives, money numbah 1", has not been disclosed.

I wonder, do you think the club could have been owned by........heaven forbid.........surely not..........by a.........policeman???

Your ineffable ignorance continues to dazzle us all. As a boorish antipodean of limited intelligence you really are a supreme example of the species, congratulations.

Ireland's growth rate is twice that of the EU average, it has the fourth highest earnings average in the community, it pays its teachers the highest of the bloc, its state pension allowance is higher than the UK's by £30 pw and in 2020 Ireland had the highest proportion of its folk in tertiary education in comparison to all of Europe. I could offer more but engaging with you bogan ockers is as rewarding as talking to a fucking tree.
