Pattaya residents and social media upset about overnight foreign motorbike racers

A large group of what appears to be Middle Eastern tourists with over 30 motorbikes allegedly blocked parts of Sukumvit Road to illegally race motorbikes.

Local media today in the early morning, August 22nd, reported about a group of foreign motorcyclists who gathered in front of the Esso gas station in South Pattaya to drive around the city, unnecessarily honk horns, and disturb peace in the neighborhood.

The group of around 30 racers also blocked a portion of Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya to race their motorcycles without a care for other drivers who may want to share the road, according to local media. This action outraged numerous Thais and foreign tourists who resided close to the street or the rendezvous of these foreign racers, prompting a question of where the law enforcement officials were when they were needed.

So far, many measures such as regularly inspecting motorbike rental shops, checking required documents and driving licenses of foreigners, and coordinating with hotel operators to warn tourists not to drive recklessly have been enforced by Pattaya Police.

However, many Pattaya residents still urged the authorities to be stricter to deter any possible harm that may be inflicted on innocent people or the racing tourists themselves.

TPN notes that late night racing has been an issue for some time in Pattaya and is not just limited to foreign tourists, with many issues with large groups of Thai youth also racing around the city.

Just something for Thai media to bitch about foreigners, most of Thailands problems are because of nasty foreigners. I live out in the sticks, Ubon. no foreigners here and the races go on every weekend.

Yes but this will be Kuwaitis, Saudis and Qataris all renting (or owning) the biggest and noisiest beasts they can buy.

The simple answer is to confiscate the rides, give them a massive fine and sentence plus a lifetime ban, and bail them so they can fuck off never to return.

The bikes they own should be auctioned and the money put in appropriate cake tins. Rented bikes should be returned to the owners.

The publicity both here and in their home countries will be a great deterrent against this kind of thing, which is hugely popular in their home countries.

the noisiest and most inconsiderate people on the planet complaining about a bit late night noise!

    Kuwaitis, Saudis and Qataris
the thai would happily crawl over red hot coals if there was some tourist money to be pocketed at the other side.

    the police will do nothing.

Unless they see a new and highly lucrative revenue stream.

Over 30 Middle Eastern allleged motorbike racers arrested in Pattaya last night

Over 30 middle eastern alleged motorbike racers were arrested in Pattaya last night following multiple complaints about them illegally racing motorbikes on main roads and causing disturbances at night.

Pol. Col. Kunlachart Kunlachai, Police Chief of the Pattaya Police Station, on Monday, August 22nd, deployed over 30 police officers at around 9 p.m. to crack down on the alleged motorbike racers who came out late at night and illegally raced motorbikes on Pattaya streets, disturbing peace and prompting various complaints from residents and tourists alike.

According to Pol. Col. Kunlachart, this operation was in response to the viral incident last night where a group of motorcyclists appeared to be racing motorbikes and blocking a portion of Sukhumvit Road. He said that Pattaya Police warned and took legal action against foreign tourists who drove recklessly on a regular basis, but some still repeated the deed, as they did not fully understand Thailand’s traffic rules.

As for last night’s operation, Kunlachart revealed that over 30 motorcyclists were arrested around Soi Yensabai. Some reportedly abandoned their bikes and fled on foot as soon as they saw the police officers.

The suspects along with the motorbike rental shops would be charged under various traffic acts, Kunlachart stated. TPN notes that late-night racing is not limited to a single nationality, but is a widespread problem throughout Thailand.

According to Pattaya Police, nearly all the suspects arrested had no license, insurance, registration, tax, helmet, or other requirements to legally drive in Thailand. Pattaya Police noted they are also working on identifying the rental shops renting to these foreign tourists to hold them responsible for renting vehicles without verifying the driver is legal and understands road laws in Thailand.

Well that's unfair. Why is it the rental company's job to ensure that they don't give untrained, unlicensed, uninsured psychopaths access to dangerous vehicles?

And yet anther wonderful vignette illuminating the Thai propensity for fucking up just about everything.

Spear a couple of fucking parrot fish and you're arrested, detained, publicly vilified, fined thousands of baht, deported and barred from re-entry but congregate en masse with your foreign chums on illegally rented motorcycles that are then driven illegally and block a city highway in the early hours of the morning terrorising the local community and all they get is a fucking warning in the first instance!!

Perhaps the most universally incompetent folk on the planet.

I wonder if Van Morrison somehow met you in his life time. He did write a song that is about you.

Baby, stall the gate for me
Take me, lift me out of my misery
Lift my spirit up, and set me free

When things are driving me insane
Let me hear that same rhythm ring
    Over and over and over
And over and over and over and over again

    Take it to the break
    Don't make any mistake
    For goodness sake
    Have to stay awake

Broken record, broken record, broken record
Broken record, broken record, broken record
Broken record, broken record, broken record
Broken record, broken record, broken record
    Broken record, broken record

you can always rely on some geriatric ganja addled septic hippy yet to grow up, and in this case it's our very own agingone, who as usual, unable to express himself with even a smidgen of eloquence, has resorted to the usual fallback of the tongue tied, the lazy and the incompetent, and that is to find and quote the garbled lyrics of a song that he believes conveys the message that he is unable to formulate himself, and that he remembers as meaningful 60 years ago, (possibly when trying to convince some girl at college to feel sorry for him and give him a hand job)

what next aging one? will it be one of leonard cohens gloomy laments? or will you go to that other hippy joni mitchell for inspiration.

agingone, you are what you is, you is what you am and you aint what youre not. (f.zappa)

Indeed, frazzled is as frazzled does. Now, given his Septic status, perhaps he could move back to Montana soon and raise a crop of dental floss and become a dental floss tycoon.

And like rats to a Pied Piper tune, here's our resident pikey and wobble-head (theses are terms of endearment) not missing any chance to have a moan about something. Just out of interest, do you pair of worthless fucking rejects have gas ovens or a length of pipe that could reach a car's interior if attached to its exhaust pipe?

You are dull and uninteresting, Headfuck.

Just another dreary reminder of the futility of life which in your case has otherwise been given the illusion of substance by your ignorance and addiction to ephemera.

    Kingdick is simply an idiot.

You judging other people's lives is like a pan-handler with 7 cents to his name judging people's cars as they drive past. Seriously, if you (or Rajid) fell off the edge of the world today would anybody even miss you?

^Says the walking advertisement for Prozac who's informed us his life is shit and revolves around waiting for something bad to happen

Well here's the news pikey, something bad has happened and it's that some total piece of dog vomit like you is still among us while nice people with positive outlooks on life, valid reasons to want to live, and loved ones who deeply care about them, are dying from incurable disease.

And yet he still spews out even more mawkish drivel.

My dear boy, life itself is an incurable disease of no purpose other than to exist, procreate and die.

^^For you and your perpetually morose ilk, obviously. For the rest of us, it's great to be alive and enjoying life with good health, a few bob in our pockets, and a circle of family/friends who care about us. I suppose in your situation it would be a lot harder to be positive about anything, ever, but not being fucking retards has stopped the rest of us digging the inescapable hole you have. If we think about this, you're a fucking ditch digger.

    Har har.

I enjoyed that. It has certainly put a spring into my step.

Nothing quite like hanging out with you lower end, knuckle dragging bozos to make one feel so much better about oneself.
