Nightclub in Pattaya’s Walking Street raided early this morning for multiple alleged

Pattaya City Police together with Law Enforcement Officers from the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) conducted a raid at the entertainment venue ‘Flexx Club’ on Walking Street very early this morning, July 24th, following alleged reports made to the ONCB of cocaine and ecstasy sales between customers in the venue. Drugs, however, were not found during the raid but Pattaya police said there were multiple other violations.

Upon the raid, led by Pattaya police chief Kunlachart Kunlachai, which began at 5:00 AM. on Sunday July 24th, more than 200 tourists and customers were seen dancing and drinking on the second floor of the venue. All of them were taken for urine tests which revealed that 4 of the customers, including 2 Thai women and 2 transgender individuals, were found positive for illegal drugs. It was not immediately clear what drug they tested positive for.

During the inspection, one of the American customers was reportedly yelling, uncooperative, and cursing the officials. He, therefore, was arrested for legal prosecution over charges of interfering with an investigation. The man refused to give his identity and refused to take a drug test as well, according to Chief Kunlachart.

A total of 33 sets of hookahs (shisha) and pipes, which are illegal in Thailand, were also found at the shop. Bar manager Sujitra Wilaiphaboon, 36, presented herself to the police and also allegedly confessed that the bar was operating past the current legal closing time of 2:00 A.M.

Pattaya police initially filed charges against the owner for opening the establishment over the legal time, distributing alcoholic beverages beyond the legal time limit, and opening the establishment beyond the time designated by the Chonburi Communicable Disease Control. Charges will also take place for the illegal shisha pipes.

The ONCB did not comment on an ongoing investigation into alleged drug sales taking place at the venue and no drugs were reportedly found.

Perhaps this was just his normal behaviour and they weren't aware.

I don't know. The rant went full bore once he got off the skytrain and to his keyboard, computer, and TD.
