More than 100 marijuana plants found in Parliament area in Bangkok, nobody knows who

More than 100 small marijuana plants have been found in the Parliament area in Bangkok, which as a government building and area is supposed to be off limits to cannabis planting, selling, or use under current regulations.

In a mystery, however, nobody knows who planted the marijuana nor is anyone stepping forward and taking responsibility.

Yesterday (July 22nd) a large tree inside the Parliament was pulled down by strong winds. Officials inspecting the area to handle the storm damage were shocked to find that more than 100 small marijuana plants were found nearby.

Former Democrat Party Member of Parliament Mr. Watchara Petthong told the associated Thai media, “Whoever has grown these marijuana plants has great agricultural skills. Soil in the Parliament has good quality but more than 347 trees have died previously while these marijuana plants are growing nicely.”

Mr. Watchara called Mr. Aroon Laipongpaew, the director of the Parliament Security Office, to investigate. Police were sent to move all marijuana plants from the parliament while investigation has continued to find these marijuana plants owner.

As of press time, nobody has stepped forward to take responsibility and it remains a mystery as to who planted the cannabis. It is unclear where the plants would be moved to, which are now decriminalized in Thailand but prohibited at places like government buildings, schools, and police stations.

Why do they need to move the plants instead of just destroy? Surely they are not a protected plant now?

And do you think that they have articulated the finer points of difference between decriminalised and prohibited?

Those dinosaurs do not have a clue what they are doing. Sprinkling seeds is going to continue simply as a way to have fun. They dont call it weed for nothing.

    That's exactly what I thought.

And now with plants being cultivated fairly openly, who knows where they'll sprout up next?
