Thread: Philadelphia Mayor Offers $20K Reward for Info on Filipino Lawyer’s Killer

After a vacationing Filipino lawyer was gunned down in cold blood in Philadelphia last weekend, the city’s mayor is now offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the shooter’s arrest. John Albert Laylo was visiting the U.S. and was in an Uber on the way to Philadelphia airport when someone in a nearby car fired several rounds into their taxi at a red light. Laylo was hit in the head and died in the hospital on Sunday. “I am sorry. It’s terrible,” Philippines Consul General Elmer Cato quoted Mayor Jim Kenney as having told him during a meeting at Philadelphia City Hall. Cato added that Kenney had offered the reward and promised Laylo’s mother, Leah, “that everything will be done to bring whoever is responsible for the death of her son to justice.” Leah shared her anguish in a Facebook post on Sunday.

Yea, doesn't seem quite as random as they're making out

This is in the local news here in PH. There are many rumours, some of which are:

1. It was a hit ordered by a PH politician
2. Crime of racial violence
3. Case of mistaken identity - the real target may have been another Nissan car in the area. The Uber car was a Nissan.

Or probably he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. One question is, why was his mom not killed and the Uber driver was left unscathed?

Very curious case. RIP to the family. The young lawyer was just visiting the US as a tourist.

I was thinking of a local fellow I had a run in with here…problem is I still bump into him now and then. When we do cross paths he wants to chat and be friends. Pretend that he wasn’t a cvnt earlier.
