Thai hotels listed among TripAdvisor’s best hotels of 2022

Two of Thailand’s hotels have been included among TripAdvisor’s global list of the top 25 hotels in 2022.

The hotels chosen for “Traveller’s Choice 2022 – Best of the Best Awards” for this year are Pimalai Resort and Spa on Koh Lanta, in the country’s southern province of Krabi, and Sukhumvit Park – Marriott Executive Apartments in Bangkok.

Pimalai Resort and Spa ranks at number 12 for being a “perfect place” for a honeymoon trip and for its hospitality, while Sukhumvit Park ranks number 16 for its location and service.

Other hotels in Southeast Asia included on this year’s list are The Padma Resort Ubud in Indonesia, The Lotte Hotel Hanoi in Vietnam, The Royal Purnama in Indonesia and Jaya House River Park in Cambodia.

The top hotels in Thailand this year, according to TripAdvisor, are:

    1. Pimalai Resort and Spa (Koh Lanta, Krabi province)

    2. Sukhumvit Park, Bangkok – Marriott Executive Apartments

    3. Melia Koh Samui

    4. Vana Belle (Koh Samui)

    5. Layana Resort and Spa (Koh Lanta, Krabi province)

The Traveller’s Choice Best of the Best Awards are determined based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings, specific to each subcategory, posted on TripAdvisor between January 1st and December 31st, 2021.

I must be a cheapskate, I’ve never been in any of those. I suppose I will just have to wait and read S Landreth’s reviews

The best restaurant in Thailand, according to tripadvisor, is on Koh Samui.

Any further comment would be superfluous.

I've stayed there, very nice place. Excellent service. Not outrageously expensive.

Why couldn't it be on Samui? Any valid reason for this, or just you being retarded again?

^No seriously, you're the one who's decided that the best restaurant in Thailand couldn't possibly be on Samui and there's no apparent reason for this besides you being a fuckwit. So tell us then, why couldn't it be on Samui or are you just posting total bullshit again?

So there we have it folks, the true nature of a fucking brittle on full display. Just has to find something to whine about, gets called on it, has no valid reason for his whining besides being a fucking brittle, tries to change the topic. What a fuckwit.

Boy, I made one post about your pen collection and you've been seething ever since.

It's true I do have quite high standards.

^So you've got nothing on the Samui restaurant thing and were just having a brittle moment then?

In the end a luxury hotel becomes like any other and each is only truly distinguished by its setting and the views therefrom.

I have to say in the Thai context that from my experience the most satisfactory hotel I have enjoyed and found the most pleasing was the modest accommodation offered by the Lodge Hotel in Bo Phut, Samui. I stumbled upon this by accident when it was still owned by an Aussie business and took the penthouse room on the top floor overlooking the garden abutting the sliver of a beach, the sea and KPG, replete with drooping palms and the murmur of lapping waves while I sipped cool beers on my room's verandah. All was white painted walls, wooden floors, louvred doors and shutters and could have been the stage set for a Somerset Maugham scene.

And all for the princely sum of 1,800 baht per night which I bought at the rate of £1 = 76 baht. In those days there was pretty much nothing between the Lodge and the Peace Resort at t'other end of the bay.

    Happy days.

As you sat there being fanned with a banana frond by a coolie hat wearing local peasant, occasional beads of sweat dripping off the end of your Pith helmet, did it ever occur to you that one day you might be stuck forever in this Godforsaken land of infuriating living conditions?
