He could've just kept his comfortable life in Thailand and not spoken out. I admire him for making a stand in a country he has made his home, little or much.

if nobody protests in case it interferes with their comfortable lives, then then nothing changes.

it is not hard to ignore the fact that teak door is stuffed full of self opinionated sneering hypocrites who can barely contain their own pompous virtuosity who are very quick to speak out against all the perceived inequalities and injustices in the western countries they have left , yet sit back in silence when confronted with the ugly truths, brutality, cover ups and corruption carried out by the cowardly administration of the country they have chosen to invest and live in.

"First they came …" is the poetic form of a 1946 post-war confessional prose by the German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984). It is about the cowardice of German intellectuals and certain clergy—including, by his own admission, Niemöller himself—following the Nazis' rise to power and subsequent incremental purging of their chosen targets, group after group. Many variations and adaptations in the spirit of the original have been published in the English language. It deals with themes of persecution, guilt, repentance, and personal responsibility.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

so far on this thread david44, nidhogg, bonecollector and baldrick have nailed their colours to the mast.

the only way to achieve any change is to manipulate the incentive and let the work be done via their own care factor

So he's implied that if he doesn't leave they will charge him with Lese Majeste.

Best fuck off home then, froggy. Don't think you'll be coming back any time soon either.

Trying hard to think what proactive and non-self opinionated, sneering, hypocritical steps taxi took to combat social inequalities in Thailand while he was here.

Surely there must've been some right. It can't just leaving the country to rail at others on a minor Thai-centric forum.

oh dear, there seems to be a mass outbreak of vexatious triggered indignation and sanctimonious pique amongst the cabal of snivelling hypocrites as they don blinkers and close ranks, blaming a frenchman, deprived of his business and separated from his family and deported after 20 years for criticising a system rather than the intolerant oafs that run the system for their own benefit.

I mean ranting on a forum from the UK at others with no power to affect change here that they haven't done enough when you yourself have done *Checks Notes* nothing is a pretty difficult argument to make.

Kudos for attempting it though I guess.

As we approach the end of the year, no-one else is really in the running for Forum Drama Queen of the Year, are they?

As guests with no votes and no rights the only certain outcome I would have exposing/protesting publicaly opposing an unelected regime is to be deported leaving a family without a breadwinner.
If you have lived here you recall Da Torpedo, The Swiss expat who deface the C Mai mage etc,

, WITH A CERTAIN SANCTION, IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME DON'T DO THE TIME

We are not morons we know what is happening here but are impotent, if the mass supported Red Shirts regimes that have won every real election this century can do nothing what effect do you think a single or indeed every farang and ambassador united would have? IMHO zilch.
If you wish to be the incomer who starts the red revolution a trained seal or sealed train can be crowdturded.
My family had no vote in N Ireland and now here same same , violence corruption is universal its just more obvious and shameless here.

Perhaps our French SJW can look at some of the awful abuses happening in his so called democratic country.

The safety of Jews is so poor that some have already left for poorer more precarious West Bank settlements. As for UK once it has sorted out its own racism and environmental disasters and colonial legacy I will take lectures from the English , The Jocks Welsh and even Orangemen ghave seen the cracks since Brexit and t looks uglier daily.

I am not a Francophobe have home there a French ancestor and Francophone mother went to French schools and worked for teh state for a while before returning to the most regualted capitalism imagineable

So while I support your right to express criticism I refute your allegations and seek to meet the alligators .In my dealings with Ant and Oggy I have found them to be reasonable, witty , intelligent and tolerant, I'd go so far as to say Baldrick is my funniest go to poster .

I think in one sense it is by protest progress s made, but surely that is for the Thai people to decide their future for expats to lead or interfere would be counter productive even if legal.

Irelanad has had a gay Indian, whether you can be President of Slyam for the Soiled Cowboy constituency is moot.I think I'd prefer LT Norts or Snakey where you get what it says on the.
Anyway off for my Sunday roast and bottle of Rioja in prep for Chelski thrashing Ole's leftovers
