The flooding situation in the central and northeast regions is improving but more than 89,000 households are still affected by floodwater, authorities said on Thursday.
Run-off from tropical storm Tianmu, Lionrock, Kompasu and monsoon rains, which passed through the country between September 23 and November 4, is still affecting 89,732 households in 13 provinces including Nong Bua Lam Phu, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sing Buri, Lopburi, Suphan Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom and Prachinburi.
More than 350,000 households have been affected by floods and landslides across 48 provinces, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM).
The DDPM said the overall situation has improved as floodwaters are subsiding but some low-lying areas are still heavily affected.
Nineteen main roads in 12 provinces are still under a high level of water and two more are cut off, the Department of Rural Roads said.
The Thai Meteorological Department does not expect any more heavy rainfall in the north, northeast and central regions over the next week between November 4 and 9.
