Huay Yai Police are hunting for an alleged gold snatcher after a 50-year-old man reported to police that he lost a gold necklace worth almost 60,000 baht in Banglamung last night around 10:00 P.M. (October 18th).
The Huayyai Police was notified about the alleged theft from Mr. Surasak Pranomsri, 50, in Soi Chark Ngaew in Huayyai.
Law enforcement officers went to the scene to find Mr. Surasak waiting for police assistance. Surasak told the police, “I was buying vegetables. I saw a young Thai man that I vaguely thought was suspicious-looking sitting on a motorbike near the vegetable stand watching me and other customers.”
“When I returned with my vegetable purchases to my motorbike and was about to go back home, the man followed me using his own vehicle.” Surasak continued.
“He snatched my gold necklace from my neck before speeding away. It is worth almost 60,000 baht.” Surasak concluded.
Police are checking CCTV footage nearby to hopefully find the suspect for further legal action. Banglamung and Huay Yai police have warned local residents to not wear flashy jewelry while out and about, especially due to a current tough economy after months of Covid-19 related restrictions and business closures.
TPN media will provide further updates about this particular case as they become available from local law enforcement authorities.
