Bangkok named world’s best ’workation’ destination

BANGKOK (NNT) - Despite the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic affecting countries around the world, Thailand’s capital of Bangkok continues to gain popularity among international visitors. It was recently named the best spot for work and vacation by a property search website.

A UK-based holiday lettings search website Holidu.co.uk has named Bangkok the No.1 place for “workation,” a word which describes both work and vacation, from 150 cities surveyed around the world.

The Governor of Bangkok Pol Gen Aswin Kwanmuang said several criteria were taken into consideration to find a suitable destination for those seeking to both work and relax at the same time.

These criteria include monthly rents, costs for after-work drinks, average daily hours of sunshine, internet and Wi-Fi speeds, as well as interesting events.

The governor said Bangkok is a culturally diverse city and home to world-class tourist attractions and famous street foods, with the cost of living lower than many countries.

He said local residents of Bangkok are friendly with foreign visitors.

The governor of Bangkok said it is delightful to see Bangkok remain popular among foreigners despite the pandemic which continues to affect the lives of people globally.

I'm actually looking forward to a workcation at the end of the year....it will be chance to visit my family and have enough bandwidth on 4G networks to allow me to do some classes online.

Maybe someone should ask the Governor of Bangkok.

On one hand they're always saying they want 'quality tourists', on the other he's saying it's 'delightful' that people are attracted to work illegally in Thailand because of cheap rent and cheap bars.

If you talk to any of them, they are convinced they're not.
