Thailands night-time curfew shortened as countrys COVID restrictions eased

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has announced an adjustment to the list of COVID-19 “dark red” provinces, a shortening of the night curfew to 11pm-3am, while convenience stores and shopping centres can open until 10pm, effective from October 16th.

Convention halls, exhibition centres and events held in shopping centres or hotels can open with no more than 500 participants, while maintaining at least one metre social distance, and participants must wear face masks at all times.

Meetings of no more than 2 hours may be held, but must allow for effective air-ventilation. Meetings with more than 50 participants, however, must seek advance permission from the local communicable disease committee.

Gaming centres in shopping malls are allowed to reopen, except in “dark red” provinces, where only games that are played individually or in pairs are allowed. Amusement parks and water parks are to remain closed.

All sports stadia and public parks can open until 10pm with anti-COVID-19 measures in place, while large gatherings will depend on each zone.

Pubs, bars and karaoke bars are to remain closed and the Public Health and Interior ministries will discuss the measures again by October 31st.

CCSA spokesperson Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, announced that the “dark red” provinces have been reduced by 6 and now include just Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Tak, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Prachin Buri, Pattani, Ayutthaya, Yala, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Songkhla, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon and Saraburi.

The “red” provinces now include Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chainat, Chaiyaphum, Chumphon, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Trang, Trat, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Sawan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Pattalung, Phichit, Phitsanuloke, Phetchaburi, Maha Sarakham, Ranong, Lop Buri, Sri Sa Ket, Satun, Sa Kaeo, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, Surat Thani, Surin, Ang Thong, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani and Phetchabun.

The “orange” provinces are now Krabi, Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Panom, Nan, Bueng Kan, Buri Ram, Phayao, Phang-nga, Phrae, Phuket, Mukdahan, Mae Hong Son, Yasothon, Roi Et, Lampung, Lampoon, Loei, Sakhon Nakhon, Sukhothai, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Uttaradit, Uthai Thani and Amnat Charoen.

In the “dark red” provinces, the night curfew will be shortened to 11pm-3am for at least 15 days. Convenience stores, fresh markets and flea markets can open until 10pm, as can cinemas, restaurants, theatres, sports stadia, public parks and shopping malls.

Nursing homes can still open, but staff members must be fully vaccinated and must take antigen tests every week. All public transport is allowed to increase the seating capacity.

Man. Remote country life will do that to ya BB. I still pull of late nights and when work friends are here they are near all nighters. Haven't had a good bar closing night since Covid shit hit. Things appear to be changing......better start drinking more later again to prepare.

    Ain't that the truth brother.
I wake up to go to the bathroom, and look at the clock on the wall. Crap it's 12:30 am
Ok , shake it well, get all you can out of it, go back to sleep.
Wake up again , look at the clock . Crap , it's only3:00 AM. Do the math in my head, 10:00- 3:00 = 5 hrs of sleep.
Not good , must try to ho back to sleep.
Crap I can't, log on to TD and see what my fellow American idiots have to say.
    Crap , they got, jobs,
Screw around on line for a while. Getting sleepy again , close my eyes. Success I must have fallen asleep, That vivacious blond I am hanging around cant be real I must be dreaming. I wish I was awake
Oh crap I got to go to the bathroom again, my wish is granted, I am awake. But the blond is gone.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

Look at the dinosaurs we have planning the reopening.

TAT boss rules out going back to the old Thai tourism formula of crowded bars and nightlife. He insists the kingdom is instead pursuing a higher quality, more family-friendly market.

I'd prefer to get up for a piss a few times during the night than give up me beers.
