A 4-year-old half-Russian half-Thai girl tragically drowned at a swimming pool in a Banglamung house Wednesday night (September 15th).

Emergency responders were notified of the incident at 8:30 P.M. at a house in a housing estate in Nongprue.

They and The Pattaya News reporters arrived at the scene to find the 4-year-old half-Russian half-Thai girl on the tile at the side of the swimming pool.

The young girl had already been pulled up from the water by her relatives and was rushed to a local hospital where despite the best efforts of rescue workers she was pronounced dead.

The house owner, a 27-year-old Thai woman, whose name was withheld at her request, told reporters that her foreign friend, his Thai wife, and their kids came from Buriram to visit. They were staying at her home for their holidays.

The adults told reporters that they were talking inside the house when the girl suddenly disappeared. They later, unfortunately, found the girl floating in a small circular swimming pool on the grounds of the home.

Banglamung police called the incident a tragedy although noted they were still looking into the specifics of how the young girl drowned.
