New Vaccine Registration Site For Foreigners

New site for foreigner vaccine; Mor Prom deletes appointments

Link to the vaccination site below:

COVID-19 vaccination registration for foreign residents in Thailand

In life – as in vaccine registration processes – if at first you don’t succeed, try a few dozen more times. Following on the myriad plans to register people, local and foreigners for vaccines, many of which started and ended within days and suffered data leaks, site crashes, glitches (see the second half of this article) and near-constant confusion, a new vaccine site is launching in the morning. ExpatVac.Consular.Go.th is set to go live at 11 am today and serve as a Covid-19 vaccine registration website for foreigners in Thailand.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the new vaccine registration site and said that on August 1 at 11 am it will go live and allow foreigners to register for a vaccine appointment. The website was developed in association with the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Disease Control, and various consular affairs departments.

Officials say the details that many foreigners, especially those in high-risk groups, that had registered on the short-lived Thailand Intervac website will be transferred over into this new site as well. But ExpatVac.Consular.Go.th will be open to all expats who reside in Thailand and are over the age of 18. Unlike other programs that said open to all but only registered appointments in Bangkok, this site is said to include vaccine appointments in all provinces.

If history is any indication, any and all of the details above could change at any time, and the site launch may be a slower rollout with users experiences various issues hindering them from registering for a vaccine appointment. The Thaiger will update on the success of the website’s launch or any information of problems or glitches as it becomes available.

Speaking of glitches, the Mor Prom Line app that has been an on-again-off-again registration and vaccine tracking resource for several months put out an announcement of a glitch affecting appointments over the last 48 hours. Officials say that a technical error during the system update caused a problem with all bookings made on July 30 and 31 and they have all been cancelled. Anyone who used the app to make an appointment in the last 2 days will need to rebook their vaccine appointment now. The hotline for more information is 02-792-2333.

After a couple of attempts to get the page to load, I was directed to a page specific to one of 3 categories of recipients. First question - enter an e-mail address; it then crashed with "Internal server error", trying to go back gave me a message that my e-mail address was already registered and gave no other options. I will await an e-mail telling me that I have failed to complete the registration process.
Blessed are the piss takers, for they shall inherit the mirth.

"Please note that priority is given to foreign residents aged 60 years and above and to those with pregnancy (at least 12 weeks) and those who have one of the 7 underlying medical conditions below:

    1. Chronic respiratory diseases
    2. Cardiovascular diseases
    3. Chronic kidney diseases
    4. Cerebrovascular diseases
    5. All types of cancer during chemotherapy, radiotherapy and autoimmune therapy
    6. Diabetes
    7. Obesity (weighing more than 100 kilograms or BMI more than 35 kilograms per square meter)"

COVID-19 vaccination registration for foreign residents in Thailand

All others,I suspect, should expect a prolonged wait.

Although many may be eligible under "3. Chronic kidney diseases".

It's a bit embarrassing that the Middle East is streets ahead in this regard. Across the Arabian Gulf, pretty well everyone has an app on their phone for contact tracing, information about the virus and containment measures, booking appointments and showing their vaccinations status. In most cases they have been running trouble free since last year.

Thailand seems to do a website a fucking week and when they crash they simply start a new one.

As for their app, it's next to meaningless apart from as part of the foreign tourist checklist.

Yes, it's crazy but true. Saudi Arabia actually got its act together more quickly than Thailand.

In fairness, Thailand probably doesn't have an urgent need for vaccination certificates right now....

I hope they at least contacted those already registered on former apps and those who had their appointments cancelled...that would be standard procedure for any IT projects almost anywhere but here I'm not sure.

    Well there's this:

Officials say the details that many foreigners, especially those in high-risk groups, that had registered on the short-lived Thailand Intervac website will be transferred over into this new site as well.
Although I don't know if part of that was contacting people.

Thailand has to be in among the worst in vaccine distribution. I've no doubt someone can show a country that's done worse, but Thailand can't be far behind them.

I signed up for it but assume I'm quite far down the list being not overweight, youngish, not obviously dying.

Hoohoo you're not very bright are you?

Here's Thailand and its neighbours for your education.

Vietnam did what Thailand did: Locked the place down and hoped the disease would not cross its borders.

I think it's safe to say they are "doing worse than Thailand" on the vaccination front, no?

Yeah, he saw the chance to score a point with some stats about deaths, when clearly the topic you were discussing was vaccinations.

Actually you did the same this morning with a post of mine - confusing vaccination rates and death rates...not interchangeable topics, m'kay?

I wasn't "confusing" anything. I asked you, with some reasoning, if the current death and hospitalisation rates were reflected by the data you posted, suggesting I think that's a more relevant statistic, and you have failed to come up with a shred of data in response. No guesses why.

In this thread I showed that Vietnam has a worse vaccination program than Thailand, and that hoohoo pointing out Vietnam's low cumulative death toll is probably going to be quite meaningless.

    cf.

However, if you don't wish to have an adult discussion about cause, effect, and probable consequences, then I'll probably just point out that you were actually using a meaningless statistic to have a go at Boris Johnson (which is true) and that you're really just a very transparent, soft, lefty twat.

    It's quicker and easier.

No, it wasn't the topic I was discussing. Just as ohno's post wasn't about what you were discussing.

Get a fucking secretary if you need someone to call your data up for you, twat.

You were discussing how vaccination rates in the UK were currently lower than that of Malta, Ireland and I can't remember which others.

In response to which I observed that the UK has vaccinated virtually all high risk groups and it's death rate from covid has plummeted, so the vaccination rate at the moment is not as significant - especially if the countries you named are not in the same position.

Don't worry sybille, I know why you can't produce any data.
