A technical and safety team has inspected and approved the new sports fields under the Bali Hai overpass this past weekend, stating they meet Thai standards. This includes a much-anticipated skate park.

Yesterday, (July 3rd), the Pattaya City Administrative Deputy Chief Officer Mr. Kieatisak Siwongchai, and a technician from the Thailand Extreme Sports Association Mr. Kowit Thitiroongrueang inspected the extreme sports field after the construction was completed by third-party contractors.

Mr. Kowit told Pattaya News reporters, “The extreme sports field, especially the skate park, has been tested and certified and passed all safety tests, according to the Thailand Extreme Sports Association.”

“Regardless of the certification, we will require proper safety equipment and protection when using the skate park. We will have rules in place clearly posted for those using the park and city municipality staff will regularly inspect the area to ensure these rules are being followed for everyone’s own health and protection.” Kowit added.

Pattaya City officials will announce the grand opening day of the park soon, according to Kieatisak.

If they want to lock the little rascals in they need a chain link fence all the way around...and barbed wire on the top. And rascals being rascals there will be many down there at night so better lighting is needed!

That flyover /overpass was built about 20 years ago to truck land fill into walking street to reclaim the shore line.

Obviously nothing happened and walking street is still as it was but good to see they finally found some use for the failed investment.

I think its great, there can never be enough outdoor/physical activities for young (and not so young) people to have access to that might stop them being addicted to anything with a screen and get them moving. Of course Sausages has to have a whine about it before briskly adjusting his beige cardigan and thinking to himself *that told them*, it's what whining old losers do to get thru each day. In fact it's all they do.

^Who'd fill up the readers comments sections of The Sun and The Mirror with whining rants while he was away from his keyboard though?
