100% agreement with you too. My missus is ethnically Chinese, but she said to me that she doesn't want the Chinese vaccine.
Sabang is clearly a bright fella, but his Sinophinle tendencies put him with OhOh when it comes to rational thinking.

Sausages post above is also what happened to the factory where our product is made. They were supposedly all going to be vaccinated 2 weeks ago. Apparently the company secured and paid for the Sinopharm vaccine. It's been pushed out 2 times already. Latest is end of July.
My wife is Thai and absolutely doesn't want the Chinese Vaccine as do most Thai people in general from the comments I have heard and read as well as what my wife reads on various Thai sites. I had an option 2 months ago to get Sinovac. I said "Not gonna happen" :)
Most that live in reasonably remote areas are safe and can wait for a better option.
Yes. Did you read the table I posted in #17? It isn't propaganda, or even Chinese- it's from the UAE.Quote:
Did you even read my post in reply to your first question
I suggest a few people here put their morbid hatred of all things Chinese aside for a while, and realise that the best way forward for the whole World in this Covid pandemic is to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible, ideally the whole world population in less than a year. It is a rapidly mutating virus, and the latest Delta variant from India is particularly virulent. The sooner we get the vaccines out there, the less the virus is able to spread, and mutate. The small minority of vaccinated cases that still get Covid also incur far lower morbidity and severe illness rates. This is the case with all of the available vaccines.
Todays vaccines may not be effective at all against future mutations, if Covid spreads unchecked. I can assure you the Covid virus cares not if you are commie or not, or where your vaccine was made. It will infect you if it can.
and the AZ vaccine does not offer good protection against it and the Sinovac vaccine is even worse than AZ.
The delta variant will be the dominating variant in Thailand within a couple of weeks..
The world needs more locally produced mRNA vaccines, not more donated Sinovac.

Can't wait to get my Sinopharm shot next week then...
Get it. You'd be bonkers mad not to.
Even if you're the most pessimistic, China hating curmudgeons alive today, still get it. Thing is, there is nothing to stop you also getting your choice of other jabs- AZ, Pfizer, Moderna etc- as soon as they become available. They are all very different, and do not interact. Details are in the Table I posted #17.
As Confucius say- "A Bird in the Hand is worth two in the Bush".

That's more or less my thinking.
Needs must, take the best of what's available now and something else later.
Although I have pretty much zero faith Moderna etc. will be available when they're saying it will be, next year more likely.*
*Edit: in fact I was initially supposed to be getting it tomorrow until the Thai govt. decided they needed to get involved and fuck it up. Because Thai govt reasons.
Seems pretty grim in India, dunnit? And it was pretty grim in the US, until they got their act together.
There is one unavoidable side effect shared by all of the vaccines though. By getting vaxxed, you are also protecting the unvaccinated- be that because of idiocy, or unavailability. Think about it.
Everything, starting with the fact they are not that shit at all.
SINGAPORE—At least 10 of the 26 doctors in Indonesia who died from Covid-19 this month had received both doses of the vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech Ltd., a medical association said, raising questions about the Chinese-made shot that is being used in many parts of the developing world.

Can I have a guess as to why they're similar?
The more pressing difficulty in accepting Chinese sourced vaccines is not necessarily limited to whether or not they were efficacious from the outset but, rather, are the standards of production sufficiently rigorous for them to destroy batches that have been tainted in the manufacturing process? Given they are a commie state unanswerable to anyone outside the gerontocracy of their ghastly leadership cadre I have no confidence in their integrity whatsoever.
My issue with the Chinese vaccines is due to their lack of transparency, no one knows what the long term side effects are from them. There are no independent agencies policing their products. They post results and we are supposed to stand in line and trust them....I think not. Some medical community could find out in a year that Sinovac causes liver issues or some other ailment. People saying "Its better than nothing and its free" are looking at it with blinders on. IMHO they should step back and look at it in the bigger picture. I say if you are in an area where you have low reported infection rates, are not required to work in an office with high employee numbers or the public, take the necessary safety protocols when out and about, I'd wait for the better options, they are coming. Rushing out to take anything out of fear is silly.
