Yes, of course we can trust the talitubbies....

Girls were excluded from returning to secondary school in Afghanistan on Saturday, after the country’s new Taliban rulers ordered only boys and male teachers back to the classroom.

Russia to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, says envoy
"The final decision has been made, the departments are collecting cargo," Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov noted

    7 Oct, 15:38

"Russia is going to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, the details of the deliveries are being discussed, Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, stated on Thursday. "This is being worked out. Several departments are [involved]. The final decision has been made, the departments are collecting cargo. We will provide [humanitarian aid]," Kabulov said.

The Taliban (outlawed in Russia) embarked on a large-scale operation to take control of Afghanistan after the US had announced its intention to withdraw its forces in the spring. On August 15, Taliban fighters swept into Kabul without encountering any resistance, with Afghanistan’s then President Ashraf Ghani subsequently fleeing the country.

On September 6, the Taliban gained full control over Afghanistan, and on September 7, the radicals announced the new interim government."

Russia to invite Taliban to take part in Moscow talks on Afghanistan — envoyE

Envoy Zamir Kabulov did not specify the level of the Taliban’s representatives

"Russia will invite representatives of the Taliban movement (outlawed in Russia) to attend the Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan due on October 20, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan and Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asian Department Zamir Kabulov told reporters on Thursday.

"Yes," Kabulov said, answering a question if Russia planned on inviting the Taliban. Meanwhile, the envoy did not specify the level of the Taliban’s representatives.

The Moscow format was introduced in 2017 on the basis of the six-party mechanism for consultations between special representatives from Russia, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iran and India."

Russia: Military ready to protect Tajikistan border with Afghanistan

MOSCOW (RIA Novosti): Moscow is concerned about the growing activity of militants of the terrorist group “Islamic State” in Afghan-istan, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova.

“We are concerned about the growing activity of the ISIS terrorist group in Afghanistan. Lately, ISIS members have been marked by a major terrorist attack near a mosque in the center of Kabul, as a result 20 civilians were killed and more than 30 were injured,” she said.

According to Maria, the group has intensified hostilities in the south of the country.

“We note with particular concern the activities of ISIS in the area of the Russian embassy in Kabul. Five militants of this terrorist group were eliminated there on October 4. We call on the Afghan authorities to take additional measures to ensure the security of the Russian diplomatic mission, as well as Russian citizens in Afghanistan”,- added Maria.

Moscow, if necessary, is ready to take decisive measures to help Tajikistan in case of aggravation on the Tajik-Afghan border, said Zakharova. “The situation in Afghanistan and on the Tajik-Afghan border is in the focus of our closest attention. Moscow and Dushanbe maintain contacts through the defense departments, border services, diplomatic missions. We continue cooperation in strengthening the defense capability of Tajikistan, its border service, taking into account all operational needs.”, said Zakharova.

She assured that the 201st Russian military base “is equipped with everything necessary to provide assistance to the government of the Republic of Tajikistan in case of aggravation of the situation.”

“If necessary, the most decisive measures will be taken in accordance with the principles of Russian-Tajik alliance and strategic partnership,” Maria added.

NATO’s decision to revoke accreditation from the staff of the Russian mission to NATO did not come as a surprise to Moscow, but surprised by its impudence, said Maria.

“Officially, the Russian side was notified of this on October 6. This step surprised the NATO members, but did not come as a surprise. He was surprised by his arrogance, because no official explanation of the reasons was given,” Zakharova said.

“Why was it not a surprise? Because the number of our permanent mission has already been reduced both in 2015 and in 2018. This is a consistent NATO line,” she stressed.

Zakharova said that Moscow will respond to NATO’s decision to expel the staff of the Russian permanent mission, and countermeasures are being worked out.

“I would like to cite one more fact, one more proof that the actions, actions and statements of NATO are both baseless and hypocritical… representative, not to be limited to contacts at the level of the person in charge. And now we get what we received,” Zakharova noted.

“The unwillingness of NATO and NATO members to interact has become definitively and irrevocably obvious. We will proceed from this when working out response measures, and they will follow,” the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.

“This trick of the alliance looks absolutely ridiculous against the background of their such voiced theses about the need to conduct a dialogue, resume the meetings of the Russia-NATO Council and much more, which was recently published,” Maria added.

Also, The situation on the Tajik-Afghan border remains calm and no tension has been observed, Russia’s special presidential envoy to Afghanistan, Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asian Department Zamir Kabulov said on Thursday.

“No tension on the frontier has been observed. The rhetoric of the two sides was just overheated. I have no information about any tension so far,” the envoy noted.

US Nato hawks trying to ratchet up more tension at a guess. I think they're a bit miffed at Germany's defiance in securing their own ongoing energy security, as well as reducing the cost, with the designated enemy.

if you mean their gas supply being at the behest of Putin. then i'd hardly call that security given putins actions with the gas tap over the past month or have you missed that?

How many times does it need to be repeated- Russia supplies nowhere near a monopoly of Germany/ EU's energy requirements- it is just the single largest supplier.
Perhaps more to the point, these decisions are German decisions- not American. They are grown ups. They are a Sovereign nation. They ain't yo' bitches, mofo.

For a man self-professed to be worldly wise in the ways of finance you really do come across as fukin dumb. Since when does it take a monopoly position to significantly influence a market? Are you being deliberately obtuse

Germany has saved billions on it's energy bill. It is also a major foreign investor in Russia. Good deal all around, unless you want to harm both countries.

Let me put it real simple for you, Soros-

You got money, you need gas
I got lotsa gas, I need money
    Let's trade. Mutual benefit
Who are those weird fuckers talking war all the time?

OK scaredy cat, Reds under your Bed. Boohoo.
But Nato hawks have just been flipped the bird.
Whistle dixie for the next Russian invasion then.

Oh, but nations that have a working and mutually beneficial and co-dependant trade relationship rarely go to war, because there is no need to.
Guess Nato is out of a job- a rebel without a cause. Tough, e'hhh. Maybe build bridges instead.

But nations that have a working mutual respect don't use a tap to regulate their relationship as Russia have done over the past month. Cat that's scared

I think Nato drugged themself. An organisation that seems to really only agitate for dissension and conflict to remain relevant, is no longer relevant in my books.

Well good on you, so what has that got to do with your friend Putin, his hand on the gas tap and Russia's influence on the EU?

The EU has been studiously ignoring NATO for 2 decades as it thinks it is independent. Of course with only France at the top table now its perilously close to irrelevant. It needs NATO and the alliance more now than ever since the Germans ensured dependence on Russia through their ill advised premature withdrawal from Nuclear power. Schadenfreude has been used a lot lately...yet here it is. The EU is now being left to its own devices so lets see how they get on.

You shouldn't really participate in serious discussions, stick to your football banter. 12.5% . . . does that ring a bell?

And Russia becoming more reliant on the EU for its income . . . the EU can easily raise import levels from other sources whereas Russia is fucked without the EU . . . all that makes you quite

Perhaps you missed Russia trying to blackmail countries into signing 25 year deals instead of buying on the spot market.

Or perhaps you'd rather pretend it didn't happen.

No, he's just not very bright.

Russia, presented an optimal solution to the EU, indicating a win/win, for both parties.

A negotiated price with agreed periods of guaranteed price and delivery. With price adjustments available based on an agreed combination of producers costs, market prices, at agreed time intervals, 5/10/15 years.

The EU were also presented, by the then EU member UK financial advisors/officials with no responsibility to EU citizens, with an alternative solution.

"Market prices", (second by second changing price), seller determine delivery ability and no guarantees of both offered price or timely delivery.

The EU decided to adopt the latter.

As is currently visible to all, customers/suppliers/regulators/EU governments .... Changing pressures from new EU political decisions affecting EU existing energy supply ability, along with non EU countries own energy supply requirements. It was a poor decision.

Unless creating fear and uncertainty for its citizens, for whatever reasons, was the objective.

Energy pricing, for countries that failed to adopt the freely offered Russian solution, is now determined by market speculators. Whose interest is profit, not global citizen's well-being.
