Health officials Reject Proposal to Lock down Bangkok

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has rejected a proposal from medics to lock down Bangkok, where COVID-19 is now spreading at a rate of almost 1,000 infections per day.

CSSA spokesman Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin said the CCSA has decided that serious outbreaks, at construction worker housing and other locations in the capital, can be contained with local measures. In addition, locking down Bangkok may encourage migrant workers to leave, with the potential to spread the virus to other provinces.
He said the CSSA will maintain its “bubble and seal” policy of localized measures to contain the contagion.

The CCSA is also seeking to free up bed space for severe cases, by shifting green-category patients to “hospitels”, as most beds for yellow and red category patients (with moderate and severe symptoms) are now occupied. Bangkok authorities are, meanwhile, coordinating with hotels in a bid to provide more beds.

A fucking leading health official has told this fucking useless regime that hospitals in Bangkok are reaching ICU bed capacity and the system is near collapse but still these gormless morons refuse to act in locking down.

You can tell the regime leaders, their sycophants and apparatchiks etc have all been vaccinated.

In reality they are saying that the migrant and lower end are expendable and should not be admitted for medical care that will be reserved for the middle classes and rich.

Surely, Thai society is the pits.

There's plenty of beds for ICU patients.

According to a director general of Bangkok health services there are 25 left.

You really haven't a fucking clue.

This is a third world health service in which the system is permanently under resourced for the majority of the population who cannot fund privately.

The pandemic will overwhelm it if the reproduction rate remains at 1.

We are now at a critical point in the metropolis and it looks like the worst fears are being realised.

A total lockdown for Bangkok is the only solution to relieve the growing pressure on the hospitals.

True. That clown Anutin is leading Bangkok into a catastrophe...but it will be the average Thai people who will suffer.
