Having a brew at home with neighbours is maybe not his way.
You should take some of your own advice and likewise refrain from making pedantic comments.
According to an industry news publication that is not the case, the contract covers nuclear plant outage and maintenance work, including spare parts supply and engineering services for eight years.
Framatome contracted for Taishan EPR services : Corporate - World Nuclear News
The press release on their own website makes no mention of that.

Just as you offer an opinion on the situation. I choose to do likewise.
However, once you understand that the Media (in this case CNN) are not above manipulating events to suit there own ends. Then I have come to understand that it is not what they tell you, it is what they choose not to tell you that is important.
Compare and contrast the statement that started this all off 'imminent radiological threat' which Framatome supposedly gave to CNN, and the press release on their own website which I have linked to.
Furthermore in the Framatome website press release, I see no mention of raising the RA alert levels in the immediate area around the reactor site.
I expect sloppy comprehension skills from Jeff, but really...
It's also a common hoohoo trick to say "I have read something different and it says something different", usually some chinky government propaganda. The warning included an accusation that the Chinese safety authority was raising the acceptable limits for radiation detection outside the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong province in order to avoid having to shut it down, according to a letter from the French company to the US Department of Energy obtained by CNN.
Possibly to display the gauge readout at a higher accuracy.
Assuming the gauge display runs from say -100 to +100, indicating single digit decimal readings, say +6.0 (one decimal place)
By turning down/adjusting the display readout to say -10 to +10 the gauge displays the readout to +5.5001 (four decimal places)
Maybe our TD certified nuclear reactor technicians can comment, rather than CNN propagandists, as parroted here by our regular illiterate members.

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
China is supplying nuclear rectors to Pakistan. Good reactors, world class. How long before they do to Iran?
Looks like it's catching...
Iran shuts down nuclear power plant for emergency repairsIran’s lone nuclear power plant was temporarily shut down over an unexplained emergency, according to the authoritarian nation’s state-run media. An official from government energy company Tavanir said Sunday the Bushehr plant shutdown began on Saturday for repair work that would last “for three to four days,” possibly causing power outages.
As illustrated, there is no original named source in your top rated by your "article from CNN"
No letter published. What did the full letter say?Originally Posted by harrybarracuda;4274434[SIZE=3
No company identified. Which company? Les Bleus Shower Shots?
"Obtained".
Show us your evidence. Unsurprisingly, CNN provides plenty of propaganda but zero facts.
No hoohoo, you're still using propaganda wrong.
CNN is not controlled by Vlad or Mr. Shithole, you silly little boy.
Probably the whistleblower....

Zhang Zhijian, former vice-president of Harbin Engineering University, died on Thursday after somehow “falling off a building.”
Days after China announced that five fuel rods at the Taishan nuclear power plant are damaged, one of China’s leading nuclear scientists died of suspicious circumstances.
“Harbin Engineering University announces with deep grief that Professor Zhang Zhijian regrettably fell off a building and died at 9.34 am on June 17, 2021,” the statement read. “The university expresses deep sorrow over the passing of comrade Zhang Zhijian and deep condolences to his family.”
