Lampang opens its first school semester after Covid-19 problem

With a decrease in Covid-19 patients, 324 schools in 13 districts in the northern Thai province of Lampang today (June 1, 2021) open their first semester under a “New Normal” system.

At Boonwart Wittayalai School, where there are more than 4,000 students, each student will alternately come to school and everyone must wear a face mask and clean their hands with jell alcohol before entering their classes.

Only one gate is open to check each student, who must wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

All 324 schools in the province will open before 14 June 2021.

Regarding the Covid-19 situation, 252 patients have returned home, with 7 patients still recovering. Two patients have died. No new patients have been found during the past 5 days.

    Trying to work this out.

Let's say half of the 4,000 kids come in and half stay at home (alternate days).

2,000 have normal lessons (half-classes), but the other 2,000 are at home are doing what? Surely not learning online as the teachers are in class doing their thing to the ones that are at school.

    ...There's more

The teacher teachers lesson 1 on Monday to the 2,000 kids, and I persume then teaches the same lesson 1 to the other 2,000 kids that rock up on Tuesday, meaning that the kids only get 50% of the education they normally recieve in a school week.

Have I missed something here? Would be great if anyone out there can explain it to me.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

    ^ Almost.

Half go to school on Monday, the other half go on Tuesday, etc., but as the students and teachers have a weekly timetable to follow (with different teachers for different subjects), in week one, half the kids learn their Monday, Wednesday and Friday lessons and the other half learn their Tuesday and Thursday lessons. The following week they will swap: M, W & F > Tu & Th. But the result is the same as you posted, Bogon - the students are only getting half as much study time with the teacher. So after one month, the students will be 2 weeks behind. It is likely the students and teachers will study/teach on Saturdays later in the term to make up for lost time. The poor old teachers will have more student contact time than normal.

I live here, In Lampang, ^ that is a half truth, The kids out in the villages are all going to school. And i will not film it to prove it.
Infact, I drive past our local major school once a week on the way to the market, and the kids motorcycles are stacked up like a big-c parking lot everytime i drive past.

If they cut all the special activities that used a lot of school time (fabricating decorations for festivities etc) they might end up with more actual learning time than pre-covid situation.

    Slightly exaggerating here.
