Thailand shows its concern for the feelings of its people.

The Department of Mental Health has revoked its recent appointment of the Miss Universe Thailand 2020 as its mental health ambassador.
The department's Facebook page on Tuesday posted a press release on the dismissal of beauty queen Amanda Obdam as its mental health ambassador with immediate effect.
According to the document, the department was aware of people's concerns about the role assigned to the beauty queen.
The briefing quoted director-general Dr Panpimol Wipulakorn as saying it could not do anything that might cause conflicts and concerns in the Thai society.


She denied the Feb 25 appointment of the mental health ambassador was a favour to anyone. She said the ambassador only assisted in promoting mental health, encouraging people to be good listeners and raising public awareness on mental health problems in the country.
Earlier, the department had an agreement with the organisers of the Miss Universe Thailand 2020 beauty pageant so the winner would be its mental health ambassador.
A Thai-Canadian model from Phuket, Miss Obdam, 28, won her title on Oct 10 last year. On Oct 16 she posted a message in social media expressing her disapproval of all forms of violence against people. On that day, authorities dispersed anti-government demonstrators in Bangkok.

Lived a fantastic life and still do! Just looking at this conversation between HW and Sausages it seems that one man is very happy in Thailand and the Pattaya area itself. One has an active social life with lots of friends and contacts. While one is miserable and seems without a social life or many friends. One is enjoying his retirement in a beach community and one is not, in fact one is actively seeking to move to a major urban metropolis which in this case is Bangkok. One enjoys each day the other bitches about each and everyday. Pretty clear distinction between the two.

How did you read all that into it? It's very easy for the miserable to pretend that they're happy when typing on a forum.

Living life is not about the pursuit of happiness but is the realisation that it is quite futile and with that one finds acceptance and a form of contentment, only a fool can ever be satisfied with the world. How one spends it is really a matter of appetite in how to kill time once one matures out of adolescence and is determined by one's attributes, or the lack thereof, and the capacity for experience reflecting what is little more than conceited self-interest.
Friends are often merely enemies in disguise or useful waypoints providing support on what is a pointless journey to nowhere. As one ages, the need for company wanes as indeed does the need for distraction but we are essentially social animals and I do find satisfaction in spirited argument and the opportunity to expose in others their stupidity, delusions and vacuity albeit in a charming and engagingly entertaining fashion providing amusement.
