I went to Omkoi yesterday (coming from Hot, turn left before Mae Sariang), like every year many burnt places all around. I saw two fires one directly on the side of the road, possibly a cigarette butt tossed from a car, the other was far away on a mount with no road nearby.

Something new (at least to me), anyone planning to go in the forest is supposed to tell the village head beforehand. I don't know what is the punishment if you get caught not complying.
