Thread: Two people die after container falls off of trailer truck and lands on drivers

Two people have been pronounced dead at the scene after a container slipped out from a trailer truck in Si Racha yesterday and landed on the cab of the vehicle.


The Laem Chabang Police was notified of the accident yesterday (February 26th) afternoon on Ta Rua B 5 Road at the Laem Chabang Pier, in the Thung Sukhala sub-district.


Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a trailer truck in which a container had slipped off.


Two people were found inside the cab which were Mr. Supot Ninkaew, 52, and Ms. Kaesorn Poomarin, 47. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both of the victims bodies were stuck under the container. Rescue workers used a hydraulic cutter to free their bodies.


Witnesses told police that the trailer truck, which was carrying the container, had made a sudden U-turn. The container slipped off and hit the cab, killing those in the cab.


The accident is still reportedly under investigation.

How does that even happen, surely the law of physics would have it falling off the other side of the trailer.

Seen many a container fall of trucks at LaemChabang... I keep well clear when they are turning !!

The lazy pricks that drive these rigs don't turn the twist locks (4 per container) to secure the container to the trailer....which is a 2 or 3 minute job.
