Rayong authorities plan to relax some Covid-19 restrictions to reopen shopping malls, flea markets, sports stadiums, beauty institutions, and Thai massage shops after no infections were found in all eight Eastern provinces in several days, effective tomorrow, January 27th.

Rayong governor Charnna Iamsaeng revealed after a joint meeting with related authorities that the decision was made by a small CCSA meeting after there were no new confirmed Covid-19 cases in all Eastern regions for the past few days and the infected situation is now seemingly under control.

The CCSA will also further consider easing the regions from the current red-zoned highest and strictest control to yellow-zoned areas at the general meeting, chaired by Prime Minister, this Friday, January 29th. However, this is not a guarantee that more measures will be eased and is only a proposal.

The businesses to be reopened tomorrow are Thai massage shops, shopping malls, beauty clinics, golf courses, sports fields, public sports grounds, public activity fields, shooting ranges, and flea markets.

These places must continue to strictly conduct social distancing, mask-wearing, health screening, and other related health measures issued by the Public Health ministry.

Meanwhile, the boxing stadiums, animal fighting fields, amulet markets, educational and tutoring schools, child-caring centers, water parks, shrimp fishing shops, game shops, tattoo shops, bars, pubs, dance halls, gentlemen clubs, nightclubs, karaokes, and massage parlours (soapies, non traditional) have to remain closed at the moment until further notice. Alcohol restrictions remain in place for restaurants.

Travel restrictions also remain in place although could be lifted at the CCSA meeting on Friday.
