Last year after four months of lockdown, the TQ was one of the first establishments to re-open in July. Fortunately, the landlord graciously granted half rent. The employees likewise agreed to half salaries.

    <snip>

The promise of an impending vaccine also held promise of the situation returning to normal. The TQ was also very confident that business would be good again if they could just outlast the pandemic. However, this latest crackdown left no option but to call it quits as there were no longer funds to subsidize the shutdown.
The Pattaya Mail says it closed its doors on 29th Dec.

He dazzles his clients in a venue that features rural middle aged hookers.

But wants Pattaya cleaned up of all the smut.

Just busting around LT. But there's always been a contradiction with you on this. But that's with most Pattaya expats. They always disapprove of the smut to reduce the stigma of living there

It wasn't covid what closed it.
It was the world's leaders gay overreaction to covid, that's causing these problems.
If they'd have let Covud run it's course, we'd have herd immunity by now , and be back to normal.

That wasn't in the OP jones dick.

Man... Some grubby land lord was milking this bar since 1978. But it does show that somebody owns the lot. All those years and the bar business didn't get a chance to buy the ground. Sucks for them. Hope he tried instead of just laying over.

Graciously granted half rent. Yeah. I'm sure it was out of the goodness of his heart. Its business. He should have granted 1/4 rent. Then he might not be looking for a renter. It's costing him money to own the land now

Not me, and not many others I know either. Its not the rocket science some make it out to be

If I want a threesome or a blowjob while sitting at the bar with beer in hand it's not a problem here, and if not I simply don't go to the bars or areas where it's available. No different to someone living in Vegas having the option of going to a Casino whenever they want, many locals there will rarely (if ever) go to them but still enjoy the other things that wouldn't exist if not for the Casino's such as a massive array of restaraunts, golf and other sports options, malls, sports bars, shopping options, and so on. I've got friends who are in girlie bars here pretty much every day, and other friends who couldn't even remember the last time they were in one. It's great to have the option though.

So no bars can own property ? I googled it. These laws change every couple years it seems. Why couldn't a bar owner just use another legal entity to own the ground ?

Who owns all this prime Pattaya real estate then ?

Why do you keep spectacularly missing the point and doubling down on every one of your idiotic posts?

Thai Chinese own the vast bulk of desirable Pattaya real estate. Need you ask?

TQ was/is the last Pattaya bar that goes back to RnR days. So if it has crashed, a bit sad. But only slightly. Decent rock music during happy hour I recall, but only went there a few times.

Indeed they do as do the Patpongpanich family in Bangkok. Property has a huge value and sure soon will be sold given it depends entirely on tourist biz.

The Queen Mother is sinothai. Pretty sure the Leng Kee family is the biggest landholder, although you can never be certain how much the late Kamnan Poh's family own or control. Sure, the Royals have got plenty too.

Walking street, and the last time I spoke to someone in the know, is owned mostly by Thai Indians and a Thai lady who is hard as nails.

The bright side of Pattaya is dying with the Darkside not far behind but at least has many farangs who live and work here.

I was in a bar yesterday on the Darkside and there was at least 50 local farang all enjoying a beer and a nice afternoon watching the big bash cricket.
