CCSA to request some provinces shut venues and restaurants

BANGKOK (NNT) - The growing number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand over recent days has prompted the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to conclude the need for nine provinces to impose closures on entertainment venues and for eateries to switch to take-away and delivery only.

The nine provinces are Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkram, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathumthani, Chonburi and Rayong. They are to minimize contact between people.

All provinces are asked to be proactive in screening travelers from Samut Sakhon, Chonburi, Chantaburi, Rayong, Bangkok and its vicinity, and to seek out any local infections, especially if there were any large gatherings during the New Year holiday. Migrant workers are asked to restrict travel.

The center’s spokesperson conceded infection numbers may continue to rise over the coming one to two weeks but reminded the community that stopping the rise depends on public cooperation.

Well, it seems that here in Pattaya business interests have taken priority over public health with the local and regional governments permitting all restaurants to remain open in a bid to attract more tourists to sustain their investments.

But the kicker is, from Naklua all th way down to Jomtien, every condominium has had their swimming pool closed, and in many cases their garden furniture removed and stored away, because the gormless management companies claim the recent governor's order closing " public swimming pools " refers to them, and that they are doing so in order to stop people gathering.

Never mind that there is no fucker here to speak of, but just why the fuck you can go to a restaurant and stuff your gob in company with fuck knows who else from fuck knows where yet you can't swim in a pool or sit in your garden on a fucking chair is totally, fucking mystifying.

Obviously, these restrictions are a fig leaf measure perpetrated on those who represent no commercial dividend to the vested interests and is designed to show that they are doing something while those vested interests can continue to make hay.

Truly, these people have to be the most loathsome, hypocritical devious shits in the fucking universe.

A rapidly spreading virus is given a boost in Pattaya threatening hundreds of thousands of inhabitants and the business owners couldn't give a fuck but the important thing is, no-one can swim in their pool.

    You simply couldn't write it.

And our illustrious leaders have just connived at fostering their wealth protection by issuing a new order permitting chanwats to adopt measures within a protocol that is incomprehensible, illogical, nebulous and unenforceable.

seems the real reason for your tirade is not the health of the good people of pattaya, but the fact that the pool in your condo is out of bounds.

i assume the management company have reduced the annual service charges to residents to take into account the fact that the pool is no longer available.

if not then you have yet another reason for a full on rant.

The simple ideals of mandatory/voluntary actions for the safety of the commons gets past many.

Forty-nine people were killed and 379 injured in road accidents on Saturday, bringing the total over the past five days of a road safety campaign to 316 deaths and 2,741 injuries.

Thailand has confirmed 315 new coronavirus cases, taking the accumulated total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 7,694, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Sunday. No new deaths were reported, leaving fatalities at 64.

Happy new year. Wear a mask. More importantly don't drive!

The reason for the fucking rant is their spastic logic that insults the intelligence of anyone seized of a fucking functioning brain which of course now seems to exclude you Tax as you clearly are struggling to overcome the challenge of your incipient dementia and no doubt that of your fellow clog wearing, tripe guzzling, whippet fucking northern tykes with whom you must now be cloistered amid the ghastliness of a lockdown in the lee of Scarstwattingthorpe's colliery.

Having an inoperative pool can’t help the sale of that condo can it? At least Victor Meldrew had cause for complaint. By highlighting your impossible situation, rest assured you have brought happiness to others.

Never mind, Chas, I'm sure in your drink raddled isolation in the ghetto life of your Bali slum as you lurch from one Ocker infested shebeen to the next you can continue to regale the assembled of your exploits in Samui when you were run out of town because the arse was hanging out of your threadbare shorts and you couldn't make the cut in visa qualification.

Failure in FX forecast? So far, the £ exchange remains anchored at EUR 1.11, US$1.36 and 40 baht. So, no post Brxit bounce there, eh, and a far cry from the rates prevailing pre-brexit when £ bought you EUR 1.46, $US1.56 and 55 baht.

You really are a pitiful little man but one should imagine keeping your distance from others will not pose much of a challenge given you are clearly such a babbling old arse.

Ahh, poor Fondles...... I should imagine your 4,000 baht a month flophouse lacks such a facility. Poor fucker, you probably doss down in the day in your wifebeater Chang vest with the skanky, raddled old slappers under the Beach Rd palm trees stretching out your bottle of lukewarm Leo muttering inanities out the side of your slack-jawed, gummy maw while staring out to the distant horizon through rheumy bloodshot eyes wondering what fucking day of the week it might be.

And if such a puerile thing were to come to pass I'm sure by no stretch of the imagination it could possibly match in quantity or repellence the utter bilge you spout from your gob.

NOT parity with the dollar then. Your original post from 2016 contained no caveats at all. Why wriggle so desperately now?

Could moderator Kindle inform SA that copy personal complaints belong in the daily moan thread, and not in more serious parts of the forum.

My "flophouse" has its own private pool... and its open !!

Nice attempt though, I'll give you that but it proves you know zero about me... in saying that I would prefer your fantasy than the reality of working 10hours a day at a company that's a 1.5hr drive fro home.

Anywho, time for a Leo and a quick dip in the pool before firing up the BBQ to cook dinner.

amid the ghastliness of a lockdown in the lee of Scarstwattingthorpe's colliery.
sorry to shatter your outdated illusions but the collieries all disappeared about 20 years ago, not that there were any in north yorkshire to begin with.

these days, i am sorry to report, that thanks to the desirability of this part of the world, boosted no doubt by the friendliness and down to earth pragmaticism of us fine yorkshire folk, the clean air, the remarkable scenery and of course the market trestles groaning under the weight of reasonably priced fresh local meats, cheeses, pies and pastries, this part of the world is attracting more and more pesky southerners as they seek refuge from the rat race, political correctness, outrageous pricing, gang warfare and all the other imported afflictions that have made the south of england such a shithole these days. its a simpler, less sophisticated but much more rewarding lifestyle up here.

and as i look out from my window over the frosty fields with their scurrying rabbits, foraging foxes and magnificent holstein-freisians to the snow capped rolling hills of the high pennines to my west i can but thank my lucky stars that i managed to escape thailand in march, on one of the last flights out, and was not condemned, as you have been, to pass the time arguing fruitlessly with the chickenheads in the condo office, scowling angrily at the yaam, being regarded as a filthy foreign disease carrying zombie by the locals, looking down from your balcony and counting the steaming floaters, discarded condoms and plastic waste as it all washes up on to the beach in front of your condo and wishing you could just go for a cooling swim in the crystal clear depths of that inviting but forbidden swimming pool that taunts you cruelly every day as if it were the mirage of a lifesaving oasis beckoning you in from the desert of despair that is condo life for the farang in thailand these days.

All's well again, the local panjandrums have acknowledged the common sense of the united voices of we remaining farang protesting the foolishness of closing facilities that were already deserted by their other users who have long since decamped for Europe/Russia and Australia and permitted condos to open their pools and gardens.

The weather is glorious, a cooling breeze drifts down from the north, the bay here at Wongamat is crystal clear and the beach is pristine with scarcely anyone to disport themselves other than we retirees and spouses/families of work permit holders.

As we eat our freshly prepared gai grapow and quaff ice cold San Migs on our balcony with the setting tropical sun painting a Titian sky streaked in crimson hues turning purple and midnight blue, I can only think of the horror you must be going through in those freezing, long, dark, leaden winter nights as the bodies pile up, a thousand a day, in their charnel houses with only the nightly bulletins of imminent bankruptcy, a collapsing NHS and the inanity of a desperate and powerless government uttering vacuous platitudes to divert your attention from the constant fear of contagion with the occasional trip to some ghastly northern Aldi to buy what scraps are left by the trudging masses rationed like some soviet dystopia dishing out cabbage soup and despair.
