The Thai government is now extending the emergency decree to January 15, 2021, according to the latest announcement in the Royal Gazette.
The emergency decree was extended to help curtail the spread of Covid-19.
The following provisions are now enacted:
Entering risk-prone areas: no citizens are allowed to risk-areas as announced by governor of Bangkok and governor of each province.
Closing down of disease and risk-prone areas: authority is now given to the governor of each province to close down locations that are considered risk-prone.
Gatherings: No citizens are allowed to gather, mingle, or participate in crowded places.
Relocation of migrant workers: all officials to strictly oversee and monitor that no relocation or moving of migrant/foreign workers are taking place, as to control the spread of the disease.
Practice and enforcement of disease-prevention measures: for government staff, disease control officials and all related persons to act and strictly enforce disease-prevention measures as stipulated in the terms (edition 11) dated June 30, 2013 and requirements (edition 14) dated August 2020.
Coordination: the Disease of Department Control under the Ministry of Public Health, with the Secretary-General of the National Security Council as the director, be in charge of the monitoring, movement, and acceleration of the operation in all units with societal, economic, and public concern in mind.
Consistency: for the direction of disease control to run smoothly and consistently throughout the entire country, all governors of each province must, in this emergency situation, act in accordance with the practices or standards adopted by the Ministry of Public Health or as directed by the Prime Minister.
Previous announcements: For the announcement and measures as declared by each province and governor prior to this document, under the Communicable Disease Act and for emergency purposes, to be kept in place unless officially notified otherwise.
