Will DeSombre be out soon as US Ambassador to Thailand??

Since incoming President Biden will likely appoint his own Ambassador to Thailand, any bets on whether the Statutory Declaration of Income letters might be reinstated? DeSombre is known to be a typical deluded Trumper, might this auger well for bringing back the income letters? The current banking method has been a disaster,so I am anxious to see whether "new blood" might restore the previous seamless procedures for expats to state their income.

I doubt it, unless he is considered important in the global scheme of things.

And I also doubt the decision to stop issuing letters was his. That would have come from further up the food chain.

His an investment lawyer and a political appointee.
I wonder how much his office contributed to trump.
He will be gone ASAP and replaced with a professional.

He's a part of the permanent bureaucracy and he's a political agitator who helped with the protests in Hong Kong and Thailand. Which is why Thai protesters had his name on signs when they counter protested at the US embassy

Don't try to use facts and reason with Skidmark - he will double down on any lie he spouts.

    Just move on.

Thanks for providing the Wiki link. In the Wiki link , it shows that he worked for Sullivan and Cromwell. Sullivan and Cromwell is a international consultancy/law firm that goes around the world supporting US empire. In the wiki link for Sullivan and Cromwell , it says this :

Sullivan & Cromwell's involvement in the 1954 coup d'état in Guatemala is documented. At the time, the firm represented the United Fruit Company (UFC), which had major holdings in Guatemala.

Here's a link from their website

Cuba Sanctions Update: United States Refreshes and Enhances Cuba Sanctions

Over the last six months, the Trump Administration has demonstrated a renewed focus on efforts to pressure the Cuban government to change its domestic and foreign policies, in particular its support for the Maduro regime in Venezuela.

As I said, he's part of the permanent bureaucracy and will find work in any administration

Not anytime soon Jools. Embassy stopped income verification when Davies was Ambassador. I believe was stopped more because of cost cuts than anything else.

Unless budget increases come along or the Ambassador allocates existing budget to do, won't matter who the Ambassador is.

Biden will have about 4,000 political appointments to fill when he finally can begin his official transition. As a political appointee, DeSombre will undoubtedly be replaced, but I doubt if finding a successor for him is going to be a high priority.

He may resign once Trump accepts his defeat, in which case the highest ranking diplomat left here will probably become the acting ambassador until a new one is appointed.

I rather think getting rid of that fucking idiot Woody in the Court of St. James will be the first to pack his bags and hightail it back to the US.

    This.
It takes weeks for a new president to make his replacements and replacing the ambassador to a not so important country is not high priority.
