I'm embarrassed to be a guest in these countries sometimes. Because of the bullshit excuses and blame shifting that farangs always engage in , when something like this happens

Stickboy deleted the post because of the person who had a period over it. I totally understand.

There was pics with the boxes and her singning some paper. It's also what the police said. He was just reporting another little crime story on his dopey site. I don't think made anything up

The teacher defence...I've not seen that one used before. I suspect most people would argue teachers, particularly in Thailand are not so much bastions of morality but more swamps of vice. And a police check? everyone gets a police check, but that doesnt mean you are innocent of all crimes it just means you have not been caught, tried and found guilty of some major crimes in a particular country.

Aside from the annoying fact that you are trying a Trumpesque statement of trying to cover all bases, what good international schools do you know on Koh Samui?

This woman can look forward to featuring in the show Locked Up Abroad. There is so many young people that get into this.

Here's another one who did it in Thailand

    Just my 2 cents.

She was a teacher on the island at 19 years old. Doubt very much she would have graduated university at this age, meaning no degree, no work permit and teaching illegally.

The package received was a small Duplo fire engine which retails for less than 18 quid in the UK. Who pays for an International Royal Mail track and trace on a 700 baht toy?

I'm guessing it went like this...

Package sent from UK. The address was in the old owners name on a printed label as not to leave any handwriting as evidence.

Postal service/authorities flagged it as MDMA before hitting destination and allowed it go and see who collects it.

The girl knows the old owner left Thailand months back, signs for it (maybe knowing the contents?) and puts it to one side as to wait a day or 2 to see if the coast was clear. As she knows the old owner is back in the UK and unable to enter the country due to covid, why did she not refuse the parcel and return to sender, or at least contact the old owner and tell him he had a parcel delivered.

Police bust her. She pleads ignorance and hopes to walk away.

If TDCSI can solve this crime, then there is a glimmer of hope that the boys in brown can too.

That is correct, she got her WP a week before the bust (and the lack of a WP is the reason why she couldn't open a bank account previously) so she has worked illegally in Thailand. That is probably the only offense they can nail her for, she will be deported for that.
    It's a pity, she's a darling..

The restaurant owner may also be in trouble for having her employed without a WP..

The signature doesn't have to match the name on the package. The signature is only there so the delivery guy can prove he went to the address. This is why people use a fake name. Then at least your name isn't there with customs and they can just bust you. They have to do a controlled delivery and bust who signs for it.

Innocent until found guilty also applies to her, the only thing she's been proven guilty of is signing for someone elses package.

if signature's are anything to go by,most parcels on our mooban are left with security with no one signing.

I live a click away from the restaurant, we are on the same post office and probably have the same delivery guy.
When I get a parcel the postman stops outside the gate, beeps his mocy horn, and I get out on the balcony on 2nd floor to greet him.
He greets back when he sees me, says "I sign for you" and put the parcel on top of the fence. If we are not home he still leaves the parcel on the fence..

I find it a bit remarkable that the postman insisted to have the drug parcel signed for and that tells us a lot. The parcel was traced by the police and they had told the postman not to deliver it without it being signed for. They did trap a girl that probably is not involved in drug dealing.
Her lawyer should have a field day in court when bringing up that she was pushed to sign for the parcel.

Amazing how things work out for some while others struggle with a plethora of documents and other evidence in order to establish a legal basis to remain in Thailand negotiating any number of hoops and hurdles as they prove qualification under the rules.

At the ripe old age of 19 years she obtains a teaching post in an international school, clearly without any qualifying experience or tertiary educational qualifications given her youth, and then in the course of her two years residence on the island she also gains employment as a waitress/manager in hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint, as you do of course when one is a teacher in an international school.

Quite why anyone with any intelligence should sign for a delivery not addressed to them or indeed expected by them simply because she worked in the establishment that was owned previously by the addressee is puzzling. Claiming that she may have been distracted by the pressure of her duties is of course quite absurd given the modest nature of the business operating off the beaten track amid a pandemic that has seen tourists excluded for some 6 months.

She is a very attractive young woman and I fear she has become embroiled in a stupid enterprise through her social network and has agreed to accept the drugs or was duped into doing so having been manipulated into doing so by someone, or others, known to her.

Playing the innocent role as she is doing may seem credible to her and the gang but the practice of sending through the mail to a disguised addressee is scarcely a new ploy to the authorities the world over.

Frankly, confession or incriminating the person responsible ....." I was told by X to expect a package addressed to etc. etc. and to sign for it if asked. He said it was just some documents etc" is the only way to go.

Silly girl, and a bit of a peach. Life is a gas and living the dream on paradise island amid carefree hedonism and feckless abandon and then you fuck up.

The thing is, if she grasses on her friends they'll probably reciprocate and make sure she is dobbed in too.

The boyfriend would seem to be the likely candidate who got the stupid girl into this.

I'm certainly not buying this " butter wouldn't melt in the mouth " routine currently being pulled by her.

May well have been a cop/customs guy who made that particular delivery.

The girl is bang to rights.
