Just to note, he died from complications after a venomous centipede bite, not a poisonous one....
this might be of interest for us and others that live with danger every day.
a small hand held self device for autoinjection [EPINEPHRINE INJECTER] brand EPIPEN.for snake bites and centipedes.
i have bought a few devices myself these past few yrs.and are quite pleased with them EG.blood pressure monitor,a blood self tester for warfarin INR.range.
a digital thermometer plus others and have found them very acurate
One bites you, the other you bite it.
You might want to fact check that. So far as I know Epipens are intended to stop people falling victim to anaphylactic shock, usually from a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting or a peanut or something. For vulnerable people they are absolute life savers.
Epipens have no antivenin, they won't address the effects of snake venom directly.
Anyone here more knowledgeable on this subject?
the device is to give you a 10-30minutes.time enough to get you to hospital in case of an allergic reaction from a bite or sting, insect bites especially bees, hornets,to help with the breathing, reverse low BP.and clear the airways.we always had clarityn antihistamine tabs on hand as the wife sufferers from hay fever, they did come in handy one day when sparky got stung by one them orange hornets and he was lucky as he had a bad reaction.i will look into getting a epinephrine injecter,if i dont get a interaction with the meds i have to take.i have leaned my lesson on this subject after a doctor presrcibed a bad brand of siezure tabs, which came close to killing me after the stubbon bastard thought the farang he know fyk all.i have a contact in the uk.so i will try and find out what i can.since its been raining for months lately i have come across a few nasties, many vipers about.
