BANGKOK (NNT) - Due to the Gold Card revocation from 60 fraudulent clinics, the National Health Security Office has staged an event to address the situation, attended by representatives of 50 communities in Chomthong and Thonburi districts where the 60 fraudulent clinics were removed from the Gold Card scheme.

The revocation has affected patients registered at those clinics who now have to find new ones.

Doctor Chatree Charoencheewakul, Director of the Participation Promotion Office of National Health Security Office (NHSO) was Chair of the event held to clarify the revocation and people’s right to receive medical care at other hospitals or clinics.

He said affected patients from the corrupt clinics can continue their medical treatment at other places registered with NHSO.

Within 2-3 months NHSO will finish assigning new clinics to the affected patients.

Meanwhile, those who want to change their clinic more often, can do so four times a year.

Meanwhile, Miss Thipanun Sirichana, former Palang Pracharath Party MP candidate, said after listening to the residents of the area, that people are afraid that continuity of their medical treatment will be affected. They also fear that in an emergency situation they might need to pay the medical fee. However, NHSO officers have already clarified the situation and have supplied correct information.
