But I agree with the "Stay on topic" comment.
I see this thread, a subject I am interested in, because I plan to come back to Thailand as soon as I am allowed and is safe to travel, and I think to myself, "Maybe there is some new information" ?
Well there is a lot of new information, but none of it pertaining to the tread subject matter. Most of the information contain in the later pages pertains to your opinion of each other, and I am sure after this post . your opinion about me. I will confess , as interesting that you all are , me being a sociopath, I don't care about you all ; I just want to know about what I need to do to get back to Thailand and more specifically , what type of insurance will I need.
Frankly this , every thread deteriorating onto a pissing contest is getting a bit boring.
Here you go, my contribution to taking this thread even further
the last dozen topics are well on track but the reality is without further information there’s feck all anyone can say other than COVID or new normal or maybe in 2021

Agreed. THere was a relatively modest (for TD) step into the swamp but generally posters are on topic.
Lacking clear information we have mainly speculation. Which I think is still on topic because I am still trying to guess how the mandatory insurance announcement will be applied.

For Buckaroo, maybe a Thai embassy abroad can clarify. It isn't at all clear to me if you'll need insurance only from the gang of 16, before you travel or on arrival, and what happens if they refuse to insure someone due to pre-existing conditions or demand a Baht 1 Million premium after you have landed in Thailand.

I doubt that anyone here has those answers although some with longer experience might help frame the questions that need to be asked.

Why do you assume one is in 'misery'? I do not measure my life in context of my environment, you oaf, I am quite self-possessed enough to find contentment within my own being and that of my wingman. Simply because I despise the society and crassness of the witless indigenous in this country does not mean I am diminished in any way.

Things could be worse, one could be living in an anodyne, dreary, shitbox suburb anywhere in the world or, heaven forbid, among a bunch of ghastly ockers in Melbourne.

You blue-collar oiks are such boorish oafs with no imagination, aren't you. I suppose that is why most of you are such alcoholics.
Poor old Rory O'Retard. Melbourne was voted the worlds most liveable city for seven years in a row. You would know that if you read something other than the pattaya ladyboy of the month magazine. Anyway, it's only a pipe dream for you. A: you couldn't afford to live there and B: they don't allow riff raff the likes of you to migrate there. Still anywhere would be a step up for you from your current situation, happily swimming amongst the many floating turds off Pattays beach.

there was quite a bit of info in todays bangkok post,.visitors will go giddy trying to work out how to come here for a holliday.
EG.only 3planes each month, with a total maximum of 360 passengers or 120 each plane.besides the health certificates from their embassy, acommadation has to be paid for in advance plus the covid thai ins.cover policy, what i did understand visitors have to go into quarantine for 14days at an appointed hotel only after 2 negative tests on arrival.there is much much more conditions if they can get flights from their own countries.
they also anounced anyone who hasnt renewed their visa's will be fined for overstay or inprisoned, after SATURDAY 26th.
reading it all there should be some fun and games this weekend for them that cant get a flight.

may I refer you to the link that you may understand when you see numbers and the countries that have been successful in stopping Covid.

Coronavirus Update (Live): 30,987,709 Cases and 961,403 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer
No country has successfully contained the virus. No country has been successful in stopping Covid you complete buffoon.

Not sure how you could deduce anything from those charts. You probably struggle to tell the time using a digital watch, but you have the nerve to call me an oik?

What a breathtaking joke of a human being you are. What a complete clot. Too late for such illiteracy to be re-educated. The most amusing part of it is, you actually believe that you are not as dumb as a rock, despite proving that, on here, on a daily basis.

You are a complete idiot. No amount of editing other people’s posts can change the fact that you are dumb.

The proposed regulations are as clear as your spelling ability.
Thailand has not contained, controlled or eradicated the virus. If anyone can work through all those hoops, they will discover that while it might be possible for some determined folk to get into the country, it has no tourism service left, and for the majority it will be too expensive, and too much trouble.
You and all your multi nicks still can’t even use the quote function on here properly. Try getting the ThaI embassy in Norway to explain the travel regulations for you.

Not Yasoeggho Chic though. Tourist visa's or visa exempt will be the last issued. Around Songkran if he is lucky.

Just for comparison, in PI, the president has placed the country in a state of calamity until Sept 2021 (but may be lifted or extended, depending on circumstances).

Duterte places PH under state of calamity until Sept. 2021: battle vs. COVID-19 pandemic continues - Manila Bulletin

In this article (I can't find other sources, so I don't know if this is official), the Dept of Tourism said that int'l tourism may open by 2nd half of next year

Philippines will not open to intl tourism until 2nd half of 2021 - La Prensa Latina Media

At the moment, only Filipino citizens, diplomats, and those with long term visas (e.g. retirement, spouse visas) may enter.

Foreign spouses or foreigners with minor Filipino children (in PI) may enter, but they have to apply for a visa in the PI embassy of the country they live in. No tourist exempt visas or visa on arrival. Need docs for the visa (marriage or birth cert, etc). Covid test upon arrival at the airport, quarantine in govt-approved hotel for 1 or 2 days until results are obtained (own expense). If negative, then may proceed to 14 day quarantine at own residence. (This was from the experience of Mark - Overstay Road on YT. He recently came back from the US and he was granted a visa because he has a minor kid.

Well I suppose all I need to do really is re-post the above just to show how pathetically stupid you're logic is.

Though I suppose you still believe western countries have done a great job of managing the spread of covid.

Enough said, carry on insulting and being aggressive its certainly does prove you're idiocy.

As a long time advocate of free education for all, I am disappointed to learn that you chose to eschew this opportunity. We can only hope that you have practical skills to help you overcome such an unfortunate choice.
