BANGKOK(NNT) - To improve convenience and security of online transactions, the Digital Government Development Agency has joined hands with nine government agencies, banks, and a private firm to implement the Digital ID platform, serving as the government’s centralized platform for user authentication.
The Digital ID system will allow users of online services to authenticate themselves electronically, on a platform which connects several services across multiple agencies that require authentication.
Today, an agreement has been signed between the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission, the Thai Bankers’ Association, the Government Financial Institutions Association, the Revenue Department, the Department of Business Development, the Department of Lands, the National Health Security Office, the Student Loan Fund, and National Digital ID Company Limited, to start implementing the Digital ID authentication method on their platforms.
An example of Digital ID implementation is a service from the Revenue Department for online tax filing, which will use the Digital ID authentication process for the electronic corporate registration process.
Digital ID authentication will allow the department to accept the application electronically without requiring the applicant to be present at the office, thus allowing all document submissions and money transaction to be completely digital.
