Police hunting a thief following a fatal bag snatching in Pattani

Police in Thailandís southern border province of Pattani are looking for a thief on a motorcycle, who snatched the shoulder bag of a woman riding pillion on another motorcycle, causing her to fall onto the road, fracturing her skull and killing her.

Video footage from CCTV on the road, in Muang district of Pattani, shows the suspect, wearing a mask and full-faced crash helmet, snatch the bag, which was on the lap of the victim.

The force of the attack pulled the victim off the bike and caused her to sustain fatal head injuries, as her skull hit the hard road surface. The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital, where she died shortly afterward from internal bleeding and a fractured skull.

The Royal Thai Police have often offered tips to women about how to protect themselves from bag snatchers, including not walking alone in isolated places, not using a smart phone while walking, carrying as few possessions as possible, concealing valuables when in public and not keeping all valuables in one bag.

Probably survivable if she'd worn a helmet.

I wonder if this will affect his defence (assuming they catch him).

As ever they'll catch him if properly motivated, by reeling in local street scum for therapy until they get the right whisper to follow.

The only thing that will effect his defense is who his father is and how rich.

had this chickenhead defiled a local shrine or insulted the national flag then street justice would have intervened, a lesson would have been taught and after a month in hospital the chickenhead would have learnt the error of his ways and be much less likely to repeat his crime.

it is a pity that the public are so reluctant to administer instant street justice when witnessing crimes of this nature. it would save the police and the courts a lot of time, and go a long way to satisfying the blood lust of the law abiding citizens sick to their back teeth of the increasing amount of violent scrotes that seem to evade arrest and punishment, whilst the victims are left to suffer the consequences.

Or less messy, as most helmets sold cheaply in the streets were manufactured for one purpose alone - to prevent one's brain and blood from splattering all over the roads.

She must have had some bad karma to suffer a fate like that. Thai logic.
