Myanmar girl, 5, raped and killed

Myanmar girl, 5, raped and killed

A five-year-old Myanmar girl was found raped and murdered on Saturday (July 4) in the forest in Tak province.

The police went to Muhajireen community in Mae Sot district, after being notified of the crime. They found the girl’s body, her hands and legs tied with a rope, while her clothes were torn.

It was assumed the girl was raped and murdered. Three suspects have been arrested while forensic test results are awaited.

Mae Sot Hospital has confirmed the girl had suffered internal injuries and bleeding. The doctors also found a piece of clothing stuffed in her mouth.

About 100 residents of the community were horrified by the news. They said the girl had gone missing at around 7 pm on July 3 and was found the following morning.

Witnesses claimed that they had seen a man take the girl away while she was playing alone in the yard. The man later reportedly returned alone. The man it was revealed had earlier been convicted for rape and imprisoned for seven years when he lived in Myanmar.

Not much to add, hope they have the swine and deal with them suitably; no need for pity and counselling.

5-year-old girl tied-up, raped, and murdered in a forest.

This is some really sad shit. It would be front page national news if similar happened in the UK.

It's a news story about a 5-year-old child being abducted, tied up, raped, and murdered, if that's not worthy of the news section then what is?

I couldn’t bring myself to read this article much less post it. It’s one of those titles that makes me sick and hope that it will soon disappear off the front page.

I understand what you mean, but people should read it, people should be under no illusion of what actually goes on, people should not deny reality.

these evil bastards in thai society get away with this sort of pleasure every day,as do the people who gather for the reactment,if it is the same bloke that had been releast efrom serving a 7yrs.prison sentance for previous rape on a child, nothing but a 2inch piece of lead behind his ear from a gun would cure his evil doings.

I'm all for life with hard labour. Executing is too quick and wouldn't give the family the pleasure in knowing that he will be suffering every day till he dies.

I'd like to know what the alternative is too, please.

After all, surely someone who has progressed beyond puberty would think of the alternative before making such a statement, right?

There is some kind of point here, but not Cujo's.

Certain cultures revel in the gruesome, and love publishing pictures of human carnage. Hey, our Thai friends jostle with policemen at crime or accident scenes to get the most lurid shots they can.

Western press tend not to publish that kind of thing, and I agree that it is unnecessary.

If they'd seen the Iranian TV coverage of the IR677 downing, they would have vomited. The Iranians broadcasted responders pulling body parts from the see and brushing off the fish that were eating them, before holding them up for the cameras.

Thailand has magazines full of people who have been shot or splattered all over the road. Certain cultures love this shit and I was brought up differently, so I see it in a very negative light.

But a news story reporting a crime is not the same thing, and it should be published. People need to know these things go on to make them more circumspect about leaving their children unattended.

And in this vein, I think fathers should not get indignant about being asked to prove a child is theirs (as some have in the past) and think about what they would want to happen if their daughter was with another man without their knowledge.

    Cujo's complaint is summarily dismissed.
