Thailand will lift a ban on international flights on Wednesday

Thailand will lift a ban on international flights on Wednesday, its aviation regulator said on Monday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) said the ban on international flights will be lifted on Wednesday under some conditions.

Aircraft and persons entering Thailand must comply with the conditions, time limits and rules of the authorised persons under the Immigration Act, communicable diseases laws, air naviation law and the emergency decree, it added.

The announcement came after the government earlier on Monday approved some foreign travel to the country including business travellers and foreigners with spouses, work permits or residency in the country.

Yep, told the employer this morning that I'm pissed off already, day 2 of coming back, because they failed to meet the conditions they promised for me coming back.

Looks like I can return tomorrow.

    Cheating scumbags!!

In reading the full article I read:
"The annoucement came after the government earlier on Monday approved some foreign travel to the country including business travellers and foreigners with spouses, work permits or residency in the country. "
so am I to assume that me and the wife can now return to Thailand? if so it would be interesting to hear from any that have done so , of the actual requirements, and of their travel and arrival experience.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

I would contact your embassy, I'm pretty sure there will be paperwork involved and getting a Visa might mitigate any problems on arrival.

    Thank you for that.
I will certainly call the Thai embassy and or consulate for further information. But I think I will wait a couple of months before making a move to see how this Covid thing plays out. and if oppening up travel causes a flair up. I am not , so much. concerned about being in Thailand. We mostly stay at out home , and have been practicing social distancing for years LOL. I am more concerned with getting on a plane with all the other idiots, and transferring at airports. Our trip from Florida is a 18 to 24 hour trip and and I am not sure I feel comfortable surrendering my safety to the airlines for that length of tine amidst a pandemic. So I will keep an eye on how other are faring and then make a decision. But I do miss Thailand and wish I was there.
