Bangkok residents are being urged to extend help to farmers suffering from the Covid-19 crisis by shopping for farm produce at the headquarters of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) in Chatuchak from today until May 29.

“BAAC is helping farmers by opening its premises for them to showcase their products,” Somkiat Kimawaha, the bank’s senior executive vice president, said.

He added that farmers from Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Kanchanaburi have arrived to sell durian, pomelo, bamboo shoots, mangosteen, langsat, salak and rambutan, while farmers from Suphanburi are expected to arrive on May 29 with giant fresh water prawns, melon and eggs.

People can purchase the products at BAAC’s head office from 9am to 5pm.
