    Bah humbug!

I must be one of the few farang that actually enjoyed Songkran while I was in the Land of Stares. I spent time on Koh Chang one year and then in Isaan/Chiang Mai on other occasions and had a pleasant time every time.

    "While" being the operative word.

    HB,
Any where from 3% to 6% of most factories work force doesn't return after Songkran. They can easily find jobs anywhere. So they work all year, save. Then quit. Typically factories in Thailand are swapping staff all the time.

A majority of workers south-east of Bangkok (Banpakong, Chonburi, Rayong) are Isaan people, hoarding in by the large factories...

For the one(s) who does not know much about Thailand:

A long term wrong policy of Thai govts: instead of bringing the industry to the people (in the North, North-East, South), bringing the people to industries built up in the preferred locations (and easy for supply and for expediting either) with tax incentives (BOI, etc.)

How do they live in the camps, far from families, free time drinking, problems with travelling, enhanced especially now with the virus...

Harry reads way too much news and apparently believes it all.

Thai factory workers bounce all over routinely from factory to factory. I used to sign job abandonment forms and new hires every week.

I think you're missing the point.

Have you noticed, for example, how many car manufacturers have stopped making cars?

I get it HB. Right now at this very time, there are not a lot of job openings if any at all.

I made a generic comment about Songkran and what I have first hand experienced after the holiday. Its a revolving door. But to be expected and its planned.

Lets get back to the Covid pandemic because none of it matters until this is behind us.

Quite, it might be the case when times are good, but times now are very, very bad and when the effects ripple through to things like Thai factories they will get a lot worse.

All still build cars in Thailand, Don't think VW or FCA ever did and Volvo build trucks here so from your list that only leaves GM that no longer builds here.

I figured you were clueless and you just confirmed it, Thanks.

Whoops, another one missing the point.

Thailand is a major exporter of car parts.

Guess what happens when people stop making cars?

    Go on, take your time.
