Thread: Refractive Lens Surgery

^ Very good thanks. They dry out a lot and get a little sore sometimes. Can't swim or exercise for a Month and have to wear sunglasses outdoors for a year. Shopping malls are too bright for me at the moment and wear shades walking around them too.

But all in all, yep chuffed with the results. I sometimes think I have glasses on and try and take them off

Glad to hear that these procedures worked out splendid for ya, Dills.

I do trust that these restrictions are short-lived.

Dill, I'm surprised to learn of your post procedure pathway.

First things first, are you in the regime of eye drops to counteract infection etc to be applied regularly over the next two weeks?

Have they scheduled you for a test of the intra-pupil pressure in th next week?

What on earth do they mean you have to wear sunglasses for a year?

It's quite normal to experience a pressure increase which they treat with a course of steroid drops but in practice you should be signed off a month after the procedure and good to go without any problems or disability.

My IOL procedure took 15 minutes and I experienced no pain whatsoever, no swelling and I was gawping at the world in sun dappled joy that afternoon without sun glasses. I did experience a sort of flickering at first which was later explained to me was direct sunlight hitting the side of the lens. Got used to it fairly quickly - the brain tends to filter out stuff that it decides is superfluous to function like e.g 'floaters' soon disappearing simply because the brain cancels the retina imprint as of no significance so it stops 'seeing' them.

Certainly, avoiding any strenuous activity and water contamination for a month is the norm.

If you are still in pain go back to the doc for a check up.

Sunglasses for a year? I didn't need them at all and the doctor didn't bring up that subject.

If thats why these are, yes. Meant to drop them in every two hours, but I forget most of the time.

Which I mostly forget too

I went back after day one and was supposed to go last week. Rescheduled for this week now. They say they want to change my eye drops.Then go back after a Month and that"ll be my appointments finished

For when it's really sunny outside.

I'm in no real pain, they just get tired and dry sometimes, all the alcohol dries them out too, so decided to lose the beer glasses as well as the prescription glasses and abstain from drinking for a while now.

So all good really.

I haven't seen any halos whatever they are yet but still conscious of them being there sometimes when I can still see the outer circles of the lenses

You really must keep up with those eye drops. Such reckless negligence can negate all the care and expertise of the surgeon. Smacked botty and a kick in the bollocks for silly Dill. And postponing your op+7-10 days review was particularly stupid - untreated ocular pressure could precipitate glaucoma and blindness.

I have been slightly short sighted for decades but recently I am also needing to hold stuff more than 18 inches away to read small stuff so my sight is obviously going at both ends.

If I wear my distance glasses now I cannot read anything close at all. It used to not make any difference.

So if I got new surgery lenses to fix distance would my close reading vision be permanently fooked and need strong reading glasses to read anything or have they got magic surgery lenses that fix problems at both ends of the optical range?

^ If you get the trifocal lenses below, you will be able to see near and far.

There was a case in Pattaya a few years back. Bloke lost both of his eyes as a consequence of the operation. Keeps me off the table.

Great. Had no problems at all. Perfect in the dark too.

They pay for themselves in the end- no more buying specs and bending them in your pocket or losing them or them getting scratched.

The convenience of not having to carry specs around is great too and the old vein way of keep putting them on and taking them off again.


Highly recommended. If you are not a cheap assed ugly fuck like Lu or Nid.
