Well, it is true that every fuker in Thailand will suffer through never ending pollution until the current generation of Somchai fukers turn up their clogs.

Was just pointing out that JP's characterisation of Chiang Mai as 'horrific' was somewhat wide of the mark, and that Lampang is often shit too.

In fact I've noticed just how often it's shit because I've been keeping an eye on reasonably close places we might move to, and discounted Lampang.

It's frequently worse than many places in CM.

It's very often OK where we are too, but most of us don't stay home all day every day.

Yeah Cyrille the range is quite large and completely depends on where you are in any province. I know up by my aunts house my wife stated it was pretty hazy but near our house 40km away its nice. Its best for people concerned about it to buy an air quality monitor. They are pretty cheap off Lazada and an advisable tool to at least know instead of using the apps that are just to general and cover a wide area.

Yeah, the Mi purifiers will tell you the level in your room.

Seems fairly accurate.

The company that runs the website I linked to has a monitor, but it's about 300 bucks.

The site has data from several specific monitoring sites, one of which is only about 1 kilometre from us...but it's very near a busy road.

So yes, there is no real substitute for having your own monitor.

True point. I just know that when its burn season its very bad and is every year to the point where you can barely see the roads. I have been through it many many times and in my opinion it is horrific. While I live in the Lampang province its to general for me to say that the entire province is nice. The further north in Lampang towards Lamphun it can get the smoke backed up against the mountains with no breeze but yet head towards Tak and it can be very nice.

But generally speaking this is an annual issue that is not going to change anytime soon.

I've never been to your place JP, so I'll take your word for it.

Bearing in mind what we've agreed on, I do have a correction for you though.

Parts of Chiang Mai that you've driven through have been horrific, when you were there.

Noticed today just by observation that haze and humidity seem to go together. Cool and lower humidity less haze. BKK.
