Well, I get that you reject any suggestion that Blacks are more vulnerable to COVID and that their jobs and where they live leave them more exposed to it. You also reject the finding that whites are less likely to wear masks in the US.

LONDON — Researchers in Scotland say its COVID-19 vaccination program has led to a sharp drop in hospitalizations.


Scientists from the University of Edinburgh, the University of Strathclyde and Public Health Scotland found that the Pfizer vaccine reduced hospital admissions by as much as 85% and the Oxford/AstraZeneca shot cut admissions by up to 94%.


The findings were based on a comparison of data from people who had received their first dose of vaccine and those who had not received an inoculation. The data was gathered between Dec. 8 and Feb. 15, a period during which 21% of Scotland’s population received their first shot.

Malaysia receives first batch of COVID-19 vaccines

KUALA LUMPUR (NNT) - Malaysia’s Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jumaluddin, says that the country’s first 312,390 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Malaysia on Sunday 21st February 2021.


The vaccines were delivered by Malaysia Airlines on an Airbus A330-300, flight MH604, to Kuala Lumpur international airport.


The first doses of vaccine will be administered to the priority group on 24th February, followed by medical staff, front-line workers and those at high risk of infection. The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Muhyiddin Yassin, is included in the first group to be inoculated.


Malaysia still has over 32 million doses of vaccine to be delivered. The second dose of vaccine will arrive by ship on 26th February. More doses will be sent to the country every two weeks, until February next year.


The vaccination project is expected to cover at least 80% of Malaysia’s 32 million population within a year. To date, the country has recorded 280,272 COVID-19 cases and suffered 1,051 deaths.

It was reported that 80% of the deaths from covid were attributed to the over 65 crowd. Since they are the first to be vaccinated , as it should, the hospitalizations and death statistics should plummet.

While the United States has just about 4% of the global population, it has recorded nearly 20% of all COVID-19 deaths.

Fauci said the emergence of more contagious variants of the coronavirus, especially ones from South Africa and Brazil that have been shown to reduce the immunity from natural infections and vaccines, have made it challenging to predict when the nation will be able to put the pandemic behind it.

Fauci and Biden have said the United States should return to something approaching pre-pandemic normal life around Christmas. That could change, he cautioned.

The variants also change the equation when it comes to herd immunity, in which a population becomes protected from infection because of high levels of immunity from vaccines or infections.
Asked whether that is still achievable, Fauci said, “I think we can get herd immunity at least against getting sick.”

Throughout March and April, reports in Chinese state media began to focus on Fort Detrick, culminating in an article in the People's Daily, the official mouthpiece of the Communist Party, calling on the US government to give "clear answers to the world" about the USAMRIID lab.
The genesis of the conspiracy, the nugget of truth upon which all the other false claims have been layered, is an incident from 2019, when CDC inspectors briefly halted research at USAMRIID, over safety concerns. At the time, the lab was working on pathogens including Ebola, Zika, and plague.


A spokeswoman for the lab told the Army Times in 2019 that the issues stemmed from when the lab switched from steam sterilization to a chemical system the previous year.


"The new system necessitated numerous changes in laboratory infrastructure, procedures, and work practices that substantially increased the complexity of operating in containment laboratories," public affairs officer Caree Vander Linden said. "Mechanical issues and human error were among the issues cited by CDC in issuing the suspension."


Though multiple public investigations of the 2019 incident, by both the CDC and several media outlets, did not find any evidence of danger, or make any references to coronaviruses, it is easy to see how any story involving the lab could potentially give rise to conspiracies.
Prior to shifting its focus to defending against biological weapons and natural pathogens, Fort Detrick hosted Washington's own offensive bio-weapons program, which ended in 1969. It has also been linked to CIA research into mind control during the Cold War.


The public investigation clearing the lab did not stop some claiming there were supposedly unanswered questions about its workings, however, and in March 2020 a petition posted to the White House "We the People" website calling for an investigation was heavily promoted in Chinese media and on social platforms.
"(USAMRIID) was once ordered to halt the study of biological select agents and toxins," the People's Daily said in a report referencing the petition. "Given that these issues have become a primary public concern, what is the US government's response?"
