For anyone interested .
Reported at the Bangkok Post earlier today : 14 NOV 2020 AT 04:29
"A proposal to reduce the mandatory quarantine period for foreign tourists from 14 to 10 days will be put forward to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) for consideration next week amid Public Health Ministry advice that the infection is usually detected during the first 10 days."
For those of us waiting to get back home, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Quarantine debate next week
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
Some personal context. Just found out that my sister, a nurse in the US has been diagnosed as covid positive.
She is a nurse in a paediatric ward. It took 3 days from test to her getting the result. Three days.
Her hospital has decided that her case was one of community transmission (despite the fact that a close colleague was recently diagnosed as positive), so she gets NO fucking paid sick leave. She has to take personal leave days. How completely fucked up is that.
Fortunately, so far she is doing well. According to my mum she is grumpy and out of sorts. So no real change there.
My cousin and his nurse wife are in quarantine since Friday. She tested positive, he has not.
^
^^
Hope they all sail through.
If you happen to know:
1 - Was a second test done to confirm the positives, and if so was it with the same type of kit?
2 - How often are these positives retested, and if at all are the retests done with the same type of kit?
The USA might still hit 400,000 deaths by the end of the year based on how many new daily cases are appearing. Prisoners are already being called on at one location to bring bodies to make-shift truck morgues. It is going to be ugly.
Fucking right.
Vaccine refusers may be barred from pubs and offices: Senior Tory MP - CityAM : CityAMPeople who refuse to take a Covid-19 vaccine may be barred from restaurants, pubs and offices, a senior Conservative MP has suggested.
Tom Tugendhat, MP for Tonbridge, Edenbridge and Malling and chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, told HuffPost UK he could “certainly see the day” when people are refused entry into pubs and restaurants, and they may not be allowed to return to their work place until they have had the vaccine.
“If vaccination works and if we are confident it’s safe, and all indications so far are good, then I can certainly see the day when businesses say: ‘Look, you’ve got to return to the office and if you’re not vaccinated you’re not coming in’.”
Tugendhat added that the use of ‘vaccination certificates’ may also become standard practice as employers and venues could demand to see such documentation before people are allowed to entering their premises. As a result, people who refuse the vaccine may find it hard to return to normal life, he added.
Has there been any talk about people hedging their bets and having two different vaccines as they become available ? After all, they are quite different...
Probably early days to be talking about that though....
So there are were a million new cases in the US in a week.
Jan 20th is nine weeks, two days away.
Which presumably means a bare minimum of 9.2 million new infections.
In reality, cases will probably double from what it is now, so we could be looking at baldy orange loser having killed half a million Americans.
That's more than the number killed in WWII.

Japanese man in alternative state quarantine
It has now found its way into my apartment complex. I am now totally locked in for 21 day! This year can well and truly do one!
^ Oh, my. How will you get supplies? Or have you a ‘rona stash already?
I have enough food for 2 weeks, but I am pretty sure I can make that last longer. Drinking water will just have to be boiled tap water in a week, at least it is kinda safe to drink, but it does need to be boiled. 21 days seeing the same walls day in day out is going to be a bigger challange.
^ Yeah. I’m thankful to have a garden to piddle in. Keeps me sane.
2nd coronavirus vaccine shows early success in U.S. tests
For the second time this month, there’s promising news from a COVID-19 vaccine candidate: Moderna said Monday its shots provide strong protection, a dash of hope against the grim backdrop of coronavirus surges in the U.S. and around the world.
Moderna said its vaccine appears to be 94.5% effective, according to preliminary data from the company’s still ongoing study. A week ago, competitor Pfizer Inc. announced its own COVID-19 vaccine appeared similarly effective — news that puts both companies on track to seek permission within weeks for emergency use in the U.S.
Dr. Stephen Hoge, Moderna’s president, welcomed the “really important milestone” but said having similar results from two different companies is what’s most reassuring.

Ahaaa...... I have Moderna shares.
Let's see what happens when the market opens.
^ Moderna said their vaccine can last 30 day in refrigeration after it has been thawed. A big plus from the Pfizer vaccine.
Kudos to the American scientific/medical community in developing a surprisingly effective vaccine or two.....
I have suspicions and reservations as to the efficiency quality of distribution over the long run.
As the American systems haven't proven anything, but a political and unorganized clusterfuck, over the last nine months.
This being said - I'll extend a benefit of a doubt with positive chimes.
