Raised the alarm? Are you fucking joking?

The doctor who tried to raise the alarm - in February - was silenced.

He's dead. He died of the virus.

The chinkies knew this was transmissible in December.

They didn't "raise the alarm" as you call it until January 30th and that was only because other countries were reporting their first cases in increasing numbers.

The CCP didn't raise the alarm, a doctor who has since died did.

The Chinese will suffer through people boycotting their goods.

The world wont forget what they've done.

U.S. coronavirus hospitalizations have crept higher as states increasingly loosen Covid-19 restrictions and try to return to some semblance of normalcy, former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said Tuesday.

“We now see a trend in an uptick in hospitalizations. It’s a small uptick, but it is an uptick and it’s unmistakable and it is probably a result of reopening,” Gottlieb said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “We are going to have to watch it.”

Hospitalizations are a key indicator that epidemiologists watch closely to understand the state of the outbreak.

Hospitalizations are not as dependent on the availability of testing as other closely watched measures such as the number of new cases, which is constrained by the number of tests deployed and delayed by shortages of equipment like swabs.

However, hospitalizations are likely a lagging indicator of the underlying reality because it can take weeks for people to become infected, develop symptoms, get tested, receive test results and become sick enough to be admitted to a hospital.

“We expected cases to go up and hospitalizations to bump up when we reopened and I was talking to a lot of states about their plans and they were expecting that there was going to be an uptick,” said Gottlieb, a CNBC contributor who sits on the boards of
Pfizer and biotech company Illumina. Pfizer has a Covid-19 vaccine under development. “That’s why they all implemented very staged reopenings where they reopened in phases and then reassessed the data to make sure that any increase wasn’t an inordinate increase.”

International health authorities expressed concern Tuesday over signs the spread of the new coronavirus is "still accelerating" in Brazil, Peru and Chile.

"In South America, we are particularly concerned that the number of new cases reported last week in Brazil was the highest for a seven-day period, since the outbreak began," said Carissa Etienne, director of the Washington-based Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

"Both Peru and Chile are also reporting a high incidence, a sign that transmission is still accelerating in these countries," she said at a weekly briefing.

The Pan American Health Organization, which serves as the regional office for the World Health Organization, has been monitoring the pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean.

With a total 2.4 million cases -- out of 5 million globally -- and more than 143,000 deaths from COVID-19 reported as of May 25, Latin America has outpaced Europe and the United States in the number of daily infections.

The region is now "no doubt" the epicenter of the pandemic, Etienne said during the PAHO weekly briefing.

I suspect when easing happens they'll be the first major group to arrive in droves. Aside from tourists herded over to keep the Chinese businesses ticking over, some might wish to see how their investments are doing and/or who else they need to buy.

Thailand has made it pretty clear that it will be the first place international flights will be allowed in from, with the possible exception of neighbouring countries with far fewer tourists.

So yes, that's a safe bet, but the reasons you give are odd.

    How is that done, exactly?

Why are they not just individual adults deciding they want to have a holiday in Thailand?

A wishful dream of the Thai hoteliers. Unfortunately, before the droves arrive, the hotels will have to be placed on market...

Following all the national, international and WHO protocols or spreading his fear mongering private opinion on an internet site? What was his motivation?

Which all the "other countries" had published virologist's expert analysis, WHO approved, peer reviewed, evidence conclusively stating from what source - biological or geographical?

Which factually has not been proven even as of today. The WHO was asked last week to investigate such things only last week.

It is a matter of public record.

Even your beloved Mr. Shithole's government apologised to him.

Li Wenliang: Coronavirus kills Chinese whistleblower doctor
    7 February 202

    ....

    "What is Li Wenliang's story?

Dr Li, an ophthalmologist, posted his story on Weibo from a hospital bed a month after sending out his initial warning.

The 34-year-old had noticed seven cases of a virus that he thought looked like Sars - the virus that led to a global epidemic in 2003.

On 30 December he sent a message to fellow doctors in a chat group warning them to wear protective clothing to avoid infection.

Four days later he was summoned to the Public Security Bureau where he was told to sign a letter. In the letter he was accused of "making false comments" that had "severely disturbed the social order".

He was one of eight people who police said were being investigated for "spreading rumours" Local authorities later apologised to Dr Li.

In his Weibo post he describes how on 10 January he started coughing, the next day he had a fever and two days later he was in hospital. He was diagnosed with the coronavirus on 30 January.

Dr Li's medical history is not known."

Li Wenliang: Coronavirus kills Chinese whistleblower doctor - BBC News

Or have you another version of "the truth", you wish to share here on TD?

    Breaking News:

Your star whistle blower, unqualified to make any educated, virological assessment, had no clinical evidence, no analysis.

    Absolutely nothing.

He posted his opinion on a "chat group". He was investigated along with, probably in many peoples opinion at the time, 7 more tin foil hat wearers. Was subsequently apologised to and when he died celebrated in China as a brave man.

So no, there was no public record/announcement of new/the covid-99 virus, no public record/announcement of person to person transmission. No public record of medical evidence just a public record of a "story" posted on a web site by an non virological expert doctor. To be taken on board, in this example, the BBC.

Was he a smoker, was he taking drugs - many opticians do, any family problems - health, marriage, financial ...

Did the other 7 in his "investigated/chat group" also die of the virus?

At the same time some foreigners with the sworn responsibility to "protect and serve" their citizens, who knew much more, were suggesting, "It is nothing, we have it all under control ....".

The local medics/government spokesmen were desperately trying to actually define what and how dangerous the infection was.

Is it him who 'herded them over' from China to a Chinese business in Thailand to 'keep it ticking over'?

    What happens next?

I see lots of Chinese travelling in 2s-3s-4s, though admittedly they are generally more fond of the 'group tour' than me.

You seem to ascribing some ulterior and dishonourable motive to them all that's based only on your prejudice, though.

I guess you prefer solo western whorehounds?

So, to sum up: The good doctor warned his colleagues of an infectious diseases that looked like SARS-COV.

He was pulled in by the chinkies and told to stop "lying" and being "malicious", a warning that they issued to any other doctor who might dare spill their dirty little bat munching secret.

The chinkies covered up the virus until they couldn't hide it any more, and five million of them had gone off spreading it around the world as part of their "Chinese Year of the infectious little bastard" celebrations.

The chinkies apologised to him for being arseholes.

He got the virus and died.

    That's good news.

Previous studies have demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 is stable on surfaces for extended periods under indoor conditions. In the present study, simulated sunlight rapidly inactivated SARS-CoV-2 suspended in either simulated saliva or culture media and dried on stainless steel coupons. Ninety percent of infectious virus was inactivated every 6.8 minutes in simulated saliva and every 14.3 minutes in culture media when exposed to simulated sunlight representative of the summer solstice at 40oN latitude at sea level on a clear day. Significant inactivation also occurred, albeit at a slower rate, under lower simulated sunlight levels. The present study provides the first evidence that sunlight may rapidly inactivate SARS-CoV-2 on surfaces, suggesting that persistence, and subsequently exposure risk, may vary significantly between indoor and outdoor environments. Additionally, these data indicate that natural sunlight may be effective as a disinfectant for contaminated non-porous materials.

To assess response to Covid we need to assign a metric. So, to provide a reference number we will measure the slope of the trend. I'm using: France, Spain, UK and USA. The slope measured is from their respective date of peak deaths to peak plus 30 days.
