AID FROM CHINA AND RUSSIA :
How selfless are Europeans?
China and Russia react to the emergency in Europe faster than many EU members and help. That will not be without consequences.
It is a nice sign of cross-border neighborly cooperation in crisis and need, which the state government has now set in Stuttgart: Seriously ill Corona patients from Alsace are treated in hospitals in Baden-Württemberg, because there are (still) life-supporting devices available. These patients therefore do not need to be flown in the French southwest with military aircraft, but only have to undertake the comparatively short but hopefully saving journey over the Rhine.
This is also a nice sign because there haven't been too many of them so far. The reality is usually less selfless than the European partnership, which is evoked in contracts and speeches on anniversaries. Those who have received cross-border aid will certainly remember it with gratitude after the pandemic.
Italy could feel more connected to China and Russia in the future
This also applies to Italy, which has been hit so hard by Covid-19 so far. Deliveries of medical equipment have already arrived from China, now the dispatch of "eight mobile brigades" with virologists and doctors from Russia has been announced. Since many Italians feel that they are being abandoned by their European partners, not least by Germany - whether that is justified or not - the Chinese and Russian aid will not fail to have an effect.
This aid also conveys a political message: While European aid to an EU core country and NATO member, in whose particularly affected regions hospitals and medical staff have long since reached the limits of resilience, is apparently not the best, the communist response China and the authoritarian government ruled on the Italian emergency. Whether they offered their help themselves or were asked for help, Italy's relationship with these two countries will probably be different in the future than before. Also to his "old" partners?
China und Russland: Wie selbstlos sind die Europaer?
I wonder how much of that will get trousered.

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
That's helpful.Prohibiting the use of buildings. Or enter or be in any place.
3.3 billion is a pittance for 60 million people
...^^^Presumably, the BTS will not start running before 7am so early starts at CW are out...that also means the supermarkets, pharmacies and convenience stores will have to close well before 7pm to allow staff to return home. I wonder if anyone, anyone at all, has thought this through...
No "mingling" either.

It's official:
Thailand to declare state of emergency over COVID-19
Thailand to declare state of emergency over COVID-19 - World - Chinadaily.com.cn
Well, it seems like the projections I've been consistently using, which the usual muppets on here were call ridiculous and calling scare-mongering, were massively on the low side...
Even if Europe slows down now (which it may or may not), the US is on the increase (and that'll be dramatic over the next couple of weeks), both will likely be dwarfed by India (currently showing 500 cases) and South Africa (currently showing 400 cases)/Africa generally.
We're gonna be at 500,000+ cases by the end of March and if April is the month that India and Africa take off then that might mean 1,000,000 infected, within 4 months.
SARS had 80,000 cases in about 9 months then pretty much ended - I hope you idiots who were claiming it was worse than Covid-19 (never mind the inane common-flu idiocy...) will finally shut up, but you won't, you haven't, you keep on trolling...
When the likes of India and Africa take off, with the nature of this virus and the need for ICU units (which simply are not available in suitable numbers in Europe nevermind India and Africa), the deaths will be massive, and most will probably not be noted as Covid-19 as test kits won't be available and overwhelmed health services simply won't be able to detail them.
Cycling should be banned!!!
Anyone who has been to India will know that's true.

The wife of an Arizona man who died after ingesting chloroquine phosphate to protect himself from the coronavirus spoke out on Monday to warn the public not to "take anything" or "believe anything" without speaking to a healthcare professional.
"We saw Trump on TV — every channel — and all of his buddies and that this was safe," the woman told NBC News' Vaughn Hillyard, referring to President Donald Trump. "Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure."
NBC News reported that the man, 68, and his wife, 61, both took chloroquine to guard against the novel coronavirus, which causes a potentially fatal disease known as COVID-19. It's not clear how much chloroquine the man ingested, and Banner Health said he and his wife ingested a version of the chemical that's used to clean aquariums.
Both individuals needed to seek medical care within half an hour; the woman is currently in critical condition and the man eventually died.
Chloroquine is used to treat malaria, but there is no conclusive evidence that it is effective against the coronavirus, which the World Health Organization declared a pandemic earlier this month.
However, the president repeatedly touted the drug as a "very powerful" treatment for the disease and falsely claimed it had been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
"It's shown very encouraging — very, very encouraging early results," Trump said last week. "And we're going to be able to make that drug available almost immediately. And that's where the FDA has been so great. They — they've gone through the approval process; it's been approved. And they did it, they took it down from many, many months to immediate. So we're going to be able to make that drug available by prescription or states."
The FDA came out with a statement after Trump's comments saying it had not approved chloroquine for the coronavirus and that much more research had to be done.
"Did you at any point hear that the FDA had not approved of it for coronavirus purposes?" Hillyard asked the woman.
"Yeah," she said. "But, you know, they kept saying that it was approved for other things."
Asked what her message to the American public is after what she and her husband went through, the woman told NBC News, "Oh my God, don't take anything. Don't believe anything that the president says and his people ... call your doctor."
"Please educate the people," she added, according to audio of the conversation that Hillyard posted to Twitter. "It feels like, like my heart is broken and it'll never mend. It's just broke, dead. Like my husband. My husband is 68. We're healthy. No underlying — no diabetes or lung issues. Nothing."
