A wise step, although it's very fucking sad that they have to do it.

I'm in the Channel islands(Guernsey) at present, only a handful of cases here, but they are talking of possibly closing shop.

Herm a very small island is being closed down.

Two Emergency Room Doctors Are in Critical Condition With Coronavirus

SEATTLE — Two emergency medicine doctors, in New Jersey and Washington State, are in critical condition as a result of coronavirus, reinforcing concerns that the nation’s front-line medical workers are becoming especially vulnerable to the virus, the American College of Emergency Physicians said.

“As compared to anyone else at a hospital, you are operating with the most incomplete information,” said Dr. Angela Fusaro, an emergency doctor in Atlanta.

One of the ill physicians, a man in his 40s, is a doctor at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland, Wash., a hospital near Seattle which has seen
one of the largest concentrations of cases in the United States.

“EvergreenHealth is providing care for one of our physicians who has a confirmed case of Covid-19. He is in critical condition but stable,” the hospital said in a statement.

Dr. Jaquis said it appeared that the doctor had access to adequate protective equipment. “This was an area with an outbreak, so they were expecting and prepared. That obviously makes us more nervous.”

Safely back in the sticks. Fastest immigration I have ever known in Thailand. I had my temperature checked at least three times...on arrival, at domestic departure and at domestic arrival. It was even recorded on my departure card. I like the free sanitiser gel everywhere (didn't see any at Munich for customer use). Lots of personalised masks too...have to agree with Betty here, they should be freely available for public use...as easy as sanitiser gel as a dispenser in every public toilet. The virus may not be airborne but masks stop you touching your mouth and nse directly.

Hope you are all safe. Thanks again Betty for the advice. I used 3 on my travel yesterday but should have been 5.

Iran over the thousand new cases today (again). No wonder they are digging mass graves.

Oh, and the BBC are extending free TV licenses to the Over-75's for a couple of months. Which is a bit fucking stupid considering they are telling them to self-isolate for four.

    Wankers.

Indonesia’s president admitted over the weekend that he deliberately held back information about the spread of the coronavirus to prevent the public from panicking.

The revelation came as infections spiked to 117 and President Joko Widodo and his cabinet took precautionary Covid-19 tests after the transport minister was diagnosed with the disease.

“We did not deliver certain information to the public because we did not want to stir panic. We have worked hard to overcome this, since the novel coronavirus outbreak can happen regardless of the country border,” the president said, according to the Jakarta Post.

S&P has bounced back a bit though.

But that is not nice from the Chinkies that they do not speed up more mask and other medical supply to us, after all those purchases in the past years...

After all, should we now supply all that stuff by ourselves?

I feel sorry for my mate who had to divert his trip from the Gulf (they banned people from Singapore) to a week in Bali.

Landed in Bali yesterday, went for lunch, then got the message that if him and his g/f weren't back by midnight today, they'd be quarantined for two weeks on arrival which neither can do, so they were back at the airport this morning for the flight home.

My company has made it easy: No air travel until April 30th at the earliest.

The Chiang Mai Sixes being cancelled lessens the pain....
