expecting forward thinking to be part of knee jerk brainfarts is a bit naive

I am thinking that big pad loms blowing up into the air should be good enough to keep the virus away

and GT-200 detectors will allow the rounding up of the current infectious falang

Almost half the 46 passengers and crew tested for the coronavirus onboard the Grand Princess cruise ship were infected, US vice-president Mike Pence announced on Friday.
Of the 21 who had the virus, 19 were crew members, raising fears among passengers that they could have been infected by the staff serving their meals and keeping the ship clean.
The ship, which has been off the coast of California near San Francisco for two days, will not dock in the city as previously planned but will instead go to a military facility where the remaining 3,400 passengers and crew will be tested.

    This is fucking unbelievable. What a dopey c u n t.

An Australian doctor has been diagnosed with coronavirus after treating over 70 patients at his clinic - as well as visiting a nursing home. The man, a Melbourne GP in his 70s, fell sick on a flight from the US. Despite this, he went back to work. On Friday night, he was diagnosed with the deadly COVID-19, sparking anger and disbelief from Victorian health officials.

"I have to say I am flabbergasted that a doctor that has flu-like symptoms has gone to work," the state's Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said. "It is irresponsible for people to be going to work if they are unwell, and that is not just healthcare workers, it is everybody in the community who needs to take this very seriously."

People and patients who've been in contact with him have been ordered to self-isolate for two weeks.
"Patients have been contacted via text message this morning, or were called this morning, they will be followed up with emails," Mikakos said. "This doctor also attended two patients at a nursing home in Malvern during that time. The two nursing home patients have been isolated in their rooms and the department is working to provide support care for these residents."

Authorities are also seeking the flight manifest so those on the man's plane can be contacted.
There are now at least 65 confirmed cases across Australia.

I met 3x doctors and clinic personal this week, and they all wanted to shake my hand. I looked at them with disbelief and it took them about 2 seconds to realize that they can keep their germs.
Yes, doctors are quite arrogant and they belong to a group of craftsmen called the "untouchables". Meaning when they fuck up its hard to prove them wrong.

Doctors should never shake hands ! Simple as that !

The Aussie doctor flew in from the US and developed a sniffley cold but felt fit enough to work. Censuring him in such terms by that hack politician is a grotesque over-reaction and quite unmerited - does everyone who has a cold now need to seek urgent treatment and testing, or immediately self-quarantine???

How are you going to decide if you have a cold or COVID19?, i suspect the default position of stay at home and see how things progress as opposed to potentially spreading whatever you have is preferable from a social standpoint.

It will be closer to 1% when the analysis has been carried out in a couple of years time. Take that tin hat off Betty, you're turning into a panic manic.

Well that's one of the more cretinous statements you've come out with.

Yes, of course they fucking do if they have travelled, and especially if they are going to maul dozens of people in the coming weeks.

    FFS how stupid are you?

300-400 suspected new coronavirus infections investigated in Thailand everyday

COVID-19 infections in Thailand are steadily increasing, with the number of new suspected cases being investigated averaging 300-400 a day, said public health permanent secretary-general Dr. Sukhum Kanchanapimai at a news conference today (Friday).

He warned all Thai workers returning from South Korea, except those working in the cities of Daegu, the centre of COVID-19 outbreak in the country, and in the northern Gyeongsang province, to comply strictly with the 14-day self-quarantine measure, otherwise they will be sent to state facilities for confinement.

To ensure strict compliance, he made clear that the returnees from South Korea will not be allowed to confine themselves at home, but at locations in the vicinity of their homes and under the supervision of health volunteers and local officials.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Thailand rose by 2 today, bringing the total to 48, with 31 having fully recovered and 16 still in hospital, plus one fatality.

One of the two new cases is a British consultant, who came from Britain and made a stopover in Hong Kong in transit to Bangkok. He went to a private hospital with a fever and runny nose on March 3rd and was subsequently sent to Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute for treatment after testing positive for the virus.

The second case is a Thai woman, working illegally in South Korea, who had a fever upon her arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport yesterday. She was also sent to the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute for treatment after she was confirmed to be infected.

About 60 people, who were in close contact with a virus-infected Thai student returning from Iran, have been located and invited to Tha Sala District Hospital in Thailand’s southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat for 14 days observation.

The student was found to be infected with coronavirus on March 5th.

If you look at the stats, then it is as clear as driven snow that it only severely affects the aged 70 years up. Yes, it does infect those younger, but they seem to get over it like the flu.

No kids from the 0-9 years have succumbed, and even in my age bracket (40-49), I have a 99.6% chance of survival. Using the data provided, the Italians that are getting hit hard have no deaths under the age of 50.

These stats are a couple of days old but still hold - Coronavirus Age, Sex, Demographics (COVID-19) - Worldometer

^additionally it would appear men more affected than women and if you have diabetes, heart issues or hypertension you are in the high risk group.

    ^ Talking about deaths

I should have not have used the word 'succumbed', thinking 'died' would have been more appropriate.

How can you come to this conclusion?

Italy is a democracy and doesn't BS like China.
Maybe you can look up the Stock Market and see if you can buy some "Tin Hat Stocks". I heard its a good time to buy right now, unless you are a panic manic

I think it's the "serious or critical" that would overwhelm health services in the event of an uncontrolled outbreak, currently 15% of active cases.

That is probably what is concerning governments. It might be somewhat harsh, but the bean counters will probably be looking at public pension costs and actually seeing something positive.

The statistics are nice to read but too early for any conclusion. For now the virus is only 2 months in the news and has already shaken up the world.
What bothers me is that we don't develop an immunity against this virus. Meaning how well is our body prepared when the virus comes around a second time. Will it then ask again: "Excuse me, how old are you this time?"

As per usual, contradictory information but in reality, since when have Thai complied with any official order not associated with immediate financial gain.
