    and here we go,

Coronavirus: Singapore bank evacuated after worker falls ill - BBC News

Around 300 employees have been evacuated from Singapore's biggest bank, DBS, after one person fell ill with the new coronavirus.

All 300 had been working on the same floor, the 43rd, and were sent home on Wednesday.

"As a precautionary measure, all employees on the affected floor vacated the premises to work from home," DBS said in a statement.

Singapore had previously reported 47 cases of the new virus.

The employee was tested on Tuesday and his infection was confirmed on Wednesday.

Canteen? Elvator? Car park ticket machines? The list goes on . . . it's not confined to the 43rd floor

Especially if it travels via the air vent system, like some dodgy 80's movie.

Interesting question was raised on Netflix Pandemie:

Do we have enough resources to identify people with the virus ?

    According to this article....NO !

Today, there aren’t nearly enough test kits available to keep up with the skyrocketing case numbers, and some parts of the world may lack enough trained laboratory staff to apply them. And because the genetic tests look for snippets of viral genetic material in nose and throat swabs or fluid collected from the lung, they only work when somebody has an active infection. Scientists are still scrambling to detect antibodies against the virus in the blood, which could help find people who had an infection and recovered.

Probably doesn't reflect reality but the nipper was playing a game called Plague (?) with goal to send any survivors back to the cave, set it up through a host of variables for a long incubation period to avoid early detection, airborne and random mutation, infected just 4 people on the first day and 2bn with >50% mortality by day 58.

Just a game, but scary to consider that an accident, natural event or rogue state could replicate such a drama.

60.000 confirmed cases . . . so, the 'low' number wasn't based in reality, rather the lack of sufficient test kits

I wonder how many other big events are going to get cancelled?

The annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona has been cancelled amid growing concerns about the coronavirus.
MWC is one of the premier trade shows for the telecoms industry, organized by GSMA and focusing on the mobile industry. As the date for this year’s conference drew close, however, fears of the coronavirus began to dominate discussion, leading several of the most important supporters of MWC to announce their withdrawal from this year’s show. According to Reuters, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, BT and Nokia were some of the latest companies to pull out.

Coronavirus cases in the Chinese province at the center of the outbreak surged by 45% to nearly 50,000, after authorities added a new group of patients diagnosed by a different method, raising questions over the true scale of a crisis that appeared in recent days to be coming under control.
The change will raise the number of those infected globally by a third to almost 60,000, dashing hope that the epidemic was showing signs of easing.
In a statement on Thursday morning, the Hubei national health commission said it would now start including cases confirmed by “clinical diagnosis,” which refers to using CT imaging scans to diagnose patients, alongside those confirmed by the previous method of nucleic acid testing kits.

Previously, many patients with pneumonia-like symptoms found via CT scans could not be diagnosed as positive without an additional nucleic acid test.

    Its laughable.

World level sporting or promotional event organisers are taking precautions and cancelling or postponing, yet people from highly infected / at risk areas are still allowed to freely jet around the globe and land only for authorities to react at the point of entry or after they have got to their final destination and found to be ill.

I think Govts lack of precautions in restricting movement is playing into the virus's hands here.
