A 90-year-old woman and a famous playwright's namesake are the first people to be given a Covid jab as part of the mass vaccination programme which is now being rolled out across the UK.

    The COVID-2019 Thread-vaccine-canva-png

Margaret Keenan turns 91 next week and received the injection at 6.31am this morning. She said it was the "best early birthday present".
Moments later, the second person to have the immunisation shot was an elderly Warwickshire gentleman called William Shakespeare - yes, really.
The first of 800,000 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine will be given in the next few weeks and up to four million more are expected by the end of the month.

Seems to me that many self interested politicians are banking on no serious negative long term effects from these hastily concocted and fast tracked potions.

How much do you trust the fcukers? Me, not much.

    So:
1 Would you take the jab if offered free?
2 Would you pay for it?
3 Would you resist or delay if it becomes compulsory?
4 Would you accept if voluntary, but with some form of vaccination card or record rigged to later on penalise those that are not inoculated with restrictions on travel, education, credit, and or access to certain other public or financial services?
5 Do you think *4 is a conspiracy theory that could never happen?

^Good for you, receiving those legitimate questions as a conspiracy nut job, and then responding eagerly for the jab followed by negative to the last question.

    Gets weirder and weirder.

My hometown has implemented a QR code for entering large establishments (supermarkets, malls, banks, water & electric companies).

When they rolled out this policy ~1 month ago, it wasn't compulsory. You could still enter the premises but have to sign into some log sheet/ contact tracing form.

When I visited my mom this weekend, I found this notice at the entrance of the mall where I do my grocery shopping:

No face mask, no face shield, no QR code = NO ENTRY

The wet market entrance also had a QR scanner - just saw it this past weekend. It wasn't there before.

To get the QR code, you can do it online & download your QR code or go to the municipal hall, register there & they'll save your QR code in your phone. Mine is in my photo folder. If I happen to delete it, I can download it from the website.

Those who don't have smart phones (old dumb phones) or those who have no phone at all - they can still register in the municipal hall. They'll be given a small laminated print out of the QR code. So there's no excuse to not have a QR code.

My old mom got this laminated thingy (she has a dumb phone). She hasn't used it yet, since I'm the one buying groceries or paying the utilities whenever I visit her.

AFAIK, those visiting the PI (as tourists or returnees) have to download the Traze app prior to their flight.

According to the chief of Cebu Pacific (budget) airline, a covid passport will be essential when international travel opens here. At the moment, only citizens & former citizens are allowed to enter. Spouses & kids of citizens/ former citizens will be allowed to enter visa-free, if they are travelling with the citizen/ former citizen. They will still be subject to covid test upon arrival & quarantine (2 days hotel +12 days home).

I expect a surge in cases after the Christmas holidays - there will be family gatherings and I doubt that the ones from abroad will really follow the voluntary 12 days home quarantine.

So whether this QR code, contact tracing apps etc are forms of govt control, NWO, economic reset, Agenda 21,etc - up to the person.

could you just make your own QR code with your name and phone number and use that ?

or does it check if you give it the official made QR code ?

many places to make your own QR code with whatever data in it you want - I worry about QR codes that also gather your data and meta data for private companies to exploit

@baldrick - the QR code is for establishments in my hometown only, not country-wide. But I've read in the news that other cities/ towns have been implementing their own QR codes.

Re: your question, I think it's the 2nd answer - the reader checks it against the official one.

When I registered at the municipal hall, the data they needed were: full name, birthday, address, barangay (village), gender, phone no. They also took a pic of one of my IDs.

After registration, they had a computer monitor at the back of the room so that you could test the QR code. What was shown on screen were: full name, gender, age, barangay (village). There's also a time stamp for when you scanned.

Some establishments (e.g. electric company) have implemented an odd/even scheme for the different villages. Example, ppl in my village can only transact during odd-numbered days. Other villages transact during even-numbered days. This is to reduce the number of ppl transacting in the offices.

If the QR reader sees that you're from a non-eligible village for that day, you'll be denied entry by the security guard. This happened to one lady at the electric company - it wasn't her day/ schedule. She begged the guard to let her in, but to no avail. I had already finished my transaction, so I couldn't volunteer to get her money/ bill statement and pay for her. I did that for one other lady prior to entering the ofc.

As to what happens to (my) data - I dunno.

Safety and efficacy of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine (AZD1222) against SARS-CoV-2: an interim analysis of four randomised controlled trials in Brazil, South Africa, and the UK

    "Summary

    Background

A safe and efficacious vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), if deployed with high coverage, could contribute to the control of the COVID-19 pandemic. We evaluated the safety and efficacy of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine in a pooled interim analysis of four trials.

    Methods

This analysis includes data from four ongoing blinded, randomised, controlled trials done across the UK, Brazil, and South Africa. Participants aged 18 years and older were randomly assigned (1:1) to ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine or control (meningococcal group A, C, W, and Y conjugate vaccine or saline). Participants in the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 group received two doses containing 5 × 1010 viral particles (standard dose; SD/SD cohort); a subset in the UK trial received a half dose as their first dose (low dose) and a standard dose as their second dose (LD/SD cohort). The primary efficacy analysis included symptomatic COVID-19 in seronegative participants with a nucleic acid amplification test-positive swab more than 14 days after a second dose of vaccine. Participants were analysed according to treatment received, with data cutoff on Nov 4, 2020. Vaccine efficacy was calculated as 1 - relative risk derived from a robust Poisson regression model adjusted for age. Studies are registered at ISRCTN89951424 and ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT04324606, NCT04400838, and NCT04444674.

    Findings

    Between April 23 and Nov 4, 2020, 23 848 participants were enrolled and 11 636 participants (7548 in the UK, 4088 in Brazil) were included in the interim primary efficacy analysis. In participants who received two standard doses, vaccine efficacy was 62·1% (95% CI 41·0–75·7; 27 [0·6%] of 4440 in the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 group vs71 [1·6%] of 4455 in the control group) and in participants who received a low dose followed by a standard dose, efficacy was 90·0% (67·4–97·0; three [0·2%] of 1367 vs 30 [2·2%] of 1374;

pinteraction=0·010). Overall vaccine efficacy across both groups was 70·4% (95·8% CI 54·8–80·6; 30 [0·5%] of 5807 vs 101 [1·7%] of 5829). From 21 days after the first dose, there were ten cases hospitalised for COVID-19, all in the control arm; two were classified as severe COVID-19, including one death. There were 74 341 person-months of safety follow-up (median 3·4 months, IQR 1·3–4·8): 175 severe adverse events occurred in 168 participants, 84 events in the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 group and 91 in the control group. Three events were classified as possibly related to a vaccine: one in the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 group, one in the control group, and one in a participant who remains masked to group allocation.

    Interpretation

ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 has an acceptable safety profile and has been found to be efficacious against symptomatic COVID-19 in this interim analysis of ongoing clinical trials.

So many producers of effective and lasting [and quickly developed] vaccines might cause some to pause and consider the antibody/proteins immunity side of it.

I would have to believe that these brilliant types are in the midst of tweaking and upgrading the designs towards other COVID-like novel strains, as the experts are still learning a lot about this one and the possibilities of familial mutant strains that might exist.

Covid-19 vaccine: Allergy warning over new jab

People with a history of significant allergic reactions should not have the new Covid jab, regulators say.

It came after two NHS workers had allergic reactions on Tuesday.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said the advice applies to anyone who has had significant reactions to medicines, food or vaccines.

The vaccination programme started in hospitals this week, but will be rolled out to GP centres next week.

Doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine are expected to be delivered to around 200 GP surgeries initially - with the over-80s invited first from Tuesday.

    GPs 'ready to go'

Once the first 200 GP practices have received their doses the programme will be expanded out to more than 1,000 surgeries - with each local area having a designated site.

It means most patients will be invited to a GP centre that is not their usual one.

Similar arrangements are being made in the rest of the UK.

Well done President baldy orange cunto. Here is your legacy.

The total number of people in the U.S. who have died after contracting COVID-19 has now exceeded the number of Americans who died in combat during World War II.

AstraZeneca to work on Covid vaccine combinations with Russia’s Sputnik V developers
    PUBLISHED FRI, DEC 11 2020

LONDON — British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca said Friday it would soon start work with Russia’s Gamaleya Institute to investigate whether their two coronavirus vaccine candidates could be successfully combined.

The announcement comes shortly after the developers of the Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine approached AstraZeneca via Twitter late last month to ask whether they should try combining the two common cold virus-based vaccines to boost efficacy.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund, Russia’s sovereign wealth fund — which has funded the development of Sputnik V — said clinical trials of AstraZeneca’s vaccine in combination with its own would begin by the end of the month.

“Being able to combine different COVID-19 vaccines may be helpful to improved protection and/or to improve vaccine accessibility. This is why it is important to explore different vaccine combinations to help make immunisation programmes more flexible, by allowing physicians greater choice at the time of administering vaccines,” AstraZeneca said in a statement on Friday.

“It is also likely that combining vaccines may lead to improved immunity over a longer period of time,” it added.

AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine, produced in a collaboration with the University of Oxford, is one of several seeking to secure approval from medicine regulators amid rising hopes that a mass vaccination campaign could help end the pandemic.

To date, more than 69 million people have contracted the coronavirus worldwide, with 1.58 million related deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Data published in The Lancet medical journal this week showed AstraZeneca’s vaccine has an average efficacy of 70.4%, based on the pooling of interim data from late-stage clinical trials. The vaccine was also found to be safe and effective.

Russia has claimed Sputnik V is over 90% effective in preventing people from contracting the virus, citing preliminary results from ongoing trials.

Well then they don't need any cooperation with AstraZeneca whose vaccine is only 62% effective..
Sputnik was ready before any other vaccine so they should have the whole world market for themselves.

I fancy the fact that the Russkies are concealing their data tells you that they are bullshitting, and would probably love the opportunity to steal AstraZeneca's data to try and get over, what, 50%?

Another fucking retard. How the fuck did he get that job? (Rhetorical question).

JOHANNESBURG -- South African Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng on Friday dismissed concerns that he might be endangering people's health by linking coronavirus vaccines to a "Satanic agenda."

Here in the US, yesterday the FDA corona virus advisory comity met and and recommended approval for authorization of Pfizer's vaccine.
Emergency authorization, and the comment of distribution is expected any time now, perhaps as early as today.

Hopefully as soon as enough people a vaccinated Thailand will approve their arrival there without quarantine.

And the WHO proves itself to be a deceitful sack of shit once again.

The World Health Organization has been accused of conspiring with the Italian health ministry to remove a report revealing the country’s mismanagement at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic – the publication of which was intended to prevent future deaths.

    <snip>

    The 102-page report said
Italy’s pandemic plan had not been updated since 2006 and that, due to being unprepared, the initial response from hospitals was “improvised, chaotic and creative”. It took time for formal guidance to become available, the report added.

    <snip>

The document was allegedly removed at the request of Ranieri Guerra, the WHO’s assistant director general for strategic initiatives. Guerra was the director general for preventive health at the Italian health ministry between 2014 and late 2017, and was therefore responsible for updating the pandemic plan as per new guidelines laid out by the WHO and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Guerra is among the scientists on the Italian government’s Covid-19 taskforce.

So it raises the issue of a "vaccine passport".
